Checked the pan and nothing was present, filter teardown showed no "parts" being present. Engine it's self runs fine, compression tested fine, and (other than my compulsive nervousness about it) runs like new.

As a preface let me say this truck has me a little bit concerned. The wife ran this truck without oil for ~1 mile (thank God it was downhill), she forgot I had told her not to drive it as the oil filter advance auto gave me did not include a gasket and I had to fetch a new one. What do you...

Bought on rebate, was less than mobil 1. The time did increase yes, but the wear metals increased by a proportion much larger.

I'm a bit worried about the tin and iron levels increasing so rapidly. The engine tune was to a superchips gas mileage tune from a performance tune so I don't believe that to be much of a factor. Any thoughts ?

    TSA getting TOO touchy

To those who didn't see the video posted. Adam Savage (from mythbusters fame), had on his possession a pair of 12 inch razor blades. The scanning machine missed it completely. Seems like we've made progress from the 911 days of box cutters doesn't it ? Were dying a death of a thousand cuts, a...

Anyone got a bum CPU before?

I've only had one bad cpu before, a phenom 9950. Booted fine whenever it was first installed however it went downhill fast from there. Within ~1 week, the cpu would blue screen randomly, usually around every 1-2 days. This progressively got worse as time went on. Eventually one day I got...

    Generator 5000watt vs 6800 watt

I would personally do a bit of research on this. What factors are important to you ? 1. Fuel Consumption. 2. Run Time. 3. Continuous duty cycle, vs rush current. 4. Power of engine correlating to watt rating (also see #1, use 746 watts per HP). 5. Factor on Voltage Droop. If all of these...

To change or don't change oil on OPE.......

These engines are built so durable that for most people a oil change would most likely not be nessecary for what they would deem an acceptable engine life. With that being said, my dad owns a 1979 ( I belive, very close if not exact for that date) Garden tiller He still uses it every spring and...

    Generator Bearing

Has anyone greased this bearing located in the rear of the generator housing ? I was getting my two generators ready for this winter. (2000 Watt, and a 5500 watt). While I was checking everything over I just started wondering about it. The 5.5KW generator is ~12 Years old, and the 2000 Watt...
