'16 Big Turbo Golf R running Ethanol Blend

Hi All, the Golf was sold early this year and replaced with a manual 2020 M2 Competition. The M2 is now officially out of warranty and I'm set to swap out the factory fill oil. As of last week the M2 has a mild M4 GTS level of tune (w/ tune = ~490whp/465wtq m2c stock = ~410whp/~410wtq) ). Use...

    '16 Golf R Stage 3 Motul Sport 5-50 & 5-40 Blend ~3.7k miles

that was in response to @edyvw when he suggested I run M1 5-50 which I never did(but did consider). I ran Motul Sport exclusively before I sold the car. I was speaking to the HPL oils, which frankly yes I wasn't going to spend the $ for when I can spend half-ish the price on Motul Sport

    '16 Golf R Stage 3 Motul Sport 5-50 & 5-40 Blend ~3.7k miles

huh? maybe I'm not tracking. Where did I say I didn't want to spend $ on an oil change? On the contrary, I was doing 3k OCI's on this car and I never used M1 0w-40 ever. Other than earlier on in the cars life where I ran Castrol 0-40 (prior to swapping to the bigger turbo etc) I was running...

Nice! Thanks for heads up. That’s a great deal so I’ll get a case. Just waffling over dumping the Motul Sport 5-40 I just put in or hold off until summer before switching to the M1

    '16 Golf R Stage 3 Motul Sport 5-50 & 5-40 Blend ~3.7k miles

ok thanks. Yes, I had some back and forth with him 6 months ago or so where he recommended their Super Car engine oil. If it wasn't almost 2x the price of the M1 5-50 for 6 qts I would give it a go, but without some sort of sale I'll probably do the M1.

    '16 Golf R Stage 3 Motul Sport 5-50 & 5-40 Blend ~3.7k miles

you think it's concerning enough to do shorter OCI to see where it stands? Mine are usually short anyway, but let this last one go a bit longer at 3.7K vs all the others at 3k OCI

'16 Big Turbo Golf R running Ethanol Blend

Thanks for the feedback. Yes except for my first UOA where I had Castrol 0-40 I've been running Motul Sport. My previous UOAs with respective mileage are detailed below. I went to the bigger turbo set up about 800 or so miles into the Castrol 0-40 UOA For this most recent oil change I put in...

'16 Big Turbo Golf R running Ethanol Blend

Understood. I did a search on some of the FB mk7 related forums for others that did Blackstone reports and it seems like a high % had aluminum higher than the Blackstone reported Universal Averages. What ever the case I'll continue as I usually do and hammer it. I'm well prepared for any...

    '16 Stage 3 Golf R Motul Sport 5W40 ~3k miles

Just seeing this now as I just received my most recent UOA back and was posting it. As I know @TiGeo can attest to my car set up is a dime a dozen on these mk7/7.5 Golf R and GTIs (i.e hybrid turbo, E85 tune+upgraded fueling, etc) There are loads and loads of people with many more miles than I...

Went a bit longer than typical 3K OCI and went 3.7k miles on this UOA 55% Motul Sport 5-50/45% Motul Sport 5-40 No changes on engine/tune/fueling front since last time. Ran E40 tune about 50% of time and E85 tune 50% Unless motor pops and I build the engine I don't anticipate any more real...

Here's another 2.0 EA888 ('16 S3) that has had a fair # of UOAs. As far as I can tell this car is stock but not sure. Looks to be mainly in the 20's on iron and one UOA over 30. One single digit UOA UOA #1-#5 ->...

'16 Big Turbo Golf R running Ethanol Blend

halfway there...I had a full jug of 5-40 Motul Sport and a little less than 3 qts of Motul Sport 5-50 so I ended up doing a 50/50 blend on this most recent fill. I'd really love to do it but for the cost to do so probably wouldn't be a good long term move for my marriage. It certainly solves...

    '16 Stage 3 Golf R Motul Sport 5W40 ~3k miles

It definitely gets after it. Suspension is pretty well sorted as well, so it's a lot of fun hammering the twisties here in CO. So on the DSG and Haldex I'm cutting intervals in half. I bought the car at 30k did the Haldex right away and then did DSG 5k later @ 35k. Factory intervals are every...

I know. Concerned a bit to, but with that said, my intent is to build the engine at some point anyway and get a full frame turbo. That or DAZA swap it!
