3.6L Pentastar PUG. The flecks were shining in the sun, I believe the camera exaggerated them a bit as hot spots against the dark background. They are there though. I would expect to see metal like this in a new engine, but not one with 36k on it.

Looks exactly like the Amsoil EaO15K19 I just pulled out of my Grand Cherokee. Probably the same filter. Hecho en China. The Fram, not the Champ.

This was under the front valve cover on my buddy's Can Am ATV Rotax V-Twin. It was sitting a lot and only getting moved around occasionally. Hard to see, but there is some light rust on the roller at the top of the picture.

I believe the Premium Blue Restore product was going for $70+ a gallon when it was introduced. My money would be on NOT seeing this on the sale shelf at "Walmart". EDIT* Upon further investigation it appears Orielly's has it listed for $12.99/qt. So maybe it will be on the shelf at Walmart.

The DPF is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. There are a lot of factors that can shorten it,'s life. Excessive idling, short tripping, engine burning oil, running a smokey tune, poor design, etc, etc, etc.
