I changed the trans 80-90 before the winter. but the problem is that it doesn't glide into the next gear more so when it's colder. Feels like the sincros are not doing the job to well. I did use the regular gear oil from canadian tire brand. Maybe it's normal or should I be using something else...

Since the manual states 8k oil changes. Will dino actually darken the engine with continued 8k intervals or should I change it every 5k?

I ask this because does it matter what oil you really put in your engine. The syn that I have been using since 2k has been group3 so is it ok to go back and forth between dino and g3? Will this create bad effects to the engine? I ask this because I want to know if my engine will continue to see...

Ok I ordered the Redline 75W-90 NS GL5. Hopefully this was a wise decision.

Is it ok to use GL5? Also I was at a store today that sold Lucas synthetic 75w-90. Is that good gear oil?

Well this is all great now I'm not really sure what to do here. I guess now that we all know the temps that I see here should I just stick to dino and stay with the manufacture recommended change intervals, even for the first oil change?

Well if everyone here thinks that I should still use dino in the engine then should I atleast not consider syn in the tranny?

That's exactly it, when it's -20 2nd gear clips a bit, sorry for the bad lingo there. But I'm thinking that if I used M1 gear oil that it would be a lot smoother angaging?

The car now has 500km on it and I would like to use M1 in the cars engine and tranny, when should I do the first old change and can I use M1 5W-30 right away? Also the manual states the tranny uses 75W-90 can I switch that to Mobil1 gear oil also.
