2018 Nissan Frontier reliability (4 cyl, RWD)

That's great! Thanks a ton guys. The pricing seems good. Time will tell! I sure miss having a truck. I loved the Rangers I had, this is as close as I could find to a newer Ranger in my price range.

2018 Nissan Frontier reliability (4 cyl, RWD)

Hi guys! Wondering if anyone has experience with the Nissan Frontier in 4 cyl base trim? I'm looking for a cheap truck for my business, and there is a nice deal on one Ive had my eyes on. Its got just over 60k miles, 4cyl RWD. I know theyre outdated.....I care about safety and reliability...

Downstream O2 code.....then immediate US code after change?

Yeah, it just stunk! as a follow up - if any of you have an issue with reocurring heater circuit codes....check your 20amp O2 sensor/heater fuse. Mine must have tripped after the first install. I'm fine with having done both sensors, but could have been happy waiting. Problem fixed with a $1...

Downstream O2 code.....then immediate US code after change?

Thanks thastinger, I didnt dissconnect it, but I did reset the codes twice with an almost instant reappearance. It might be worth disconnecting the battery and seeing if the car sorts it out. Wishing I didnt soak the cat with WD40 fighting with the sensor 🤣

Downstream O2 code.....then immediate US code after change?

Hi guys, The Sube has been throwing an 0137 code, bank 1 sensor 2 code. I changed the downstream sensor and it immediately showed a code for the upstream sensor. Odd. The car only has 70k miles, wondering if I toasted them both doing a seafoam cleaning. Im hoping its not the CAT, but no...

New 2023 Corolla and 0W-8 oil

Wowza. 0w8 must be thin coming out of the bottle. I would probably just use 0w16 for both with an eye on fuel economy. If youre racking up miles on the Corolla Id use the 0w16 most likely. I can believe were looking at 0w20 like its 10w40. Times are changing

2008 Toyota Yaris M/T - Good deal or money pit?

The thing to remember, is that EVEN if....these were major issues that on a Yaris parts and procedures wont be terrible. And the bones are most definitely there. I would bleed the clutch and change the fluid, new battery, brake shoes and grab your multimeter. I think itll be a great car when...

Clicking sound on left turns - Subaru

Hi guys, so it WAS the axle. New axle is in and installed. It was a new aftermarket unit. It was a good brand....the name slips my mind. My question, is it ok that the new axle is roughly 3mm thicker than the OEM axle? Its a beast! I cant imagine as long as the CV is still the same size...

    Help with a Belt Decision

I agree with marc1 I made the mistake of swapping a belt on our Subaru with a new belt......but a worn tensioner aparently. It didnt last long without squeeling again, so I did both at the same time, second time around. Both continental with good results

    Caliper pin rubber vs steel

Hi guys, Replacing the second caliper pin in the Outback front calipers. The kit came with two pins.....one with a rubber sleeve and one thats solid steel. Its odd because both pins have the rubber sleeve. Can I use them interchangeably? The steel pin fits with no slop and is the same...

Has anybody tried bypass filtration with HPL motor oil

It helps for sure. My iron was very low....but lower with the filter. I think its was 5-6 points lower with an extra 2 months and 2k on the oil. Not huge numbers.....but still a benefit. The TBN was very stable with the auxiliary filter so Id think it has beneficial effects on the oil as well.

Clicking sound on left turns - Subaru

Thanks a ton guys. I feel like it is the front right. Its strange the sound radiates, which I think can be common with driveline issues. Ill keep you posted!

Clicking sound on left turns - Subaru

Hi folks, This is on our 2015 Outback with roughly 70k miles. I've heard that CV axles are common on these and I have one ready to go in. I dont see any signs of boot wear, but it really lines up to be a CV issue. Is there a way to check for a CV issue without just swapping the axle out? I...

Has anybody tried bypass filtration with HPL motor oil

Im not sure how the OP made out with this, but Ive seen some evidence that bypass filtration does benefit a gas engine. I ran two back to back UOAs and the second was with the bypass setup and a 7 micron filter. The second was run 2k miles longer with identical oil and driving habits and...
