My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Just did an OC with M1 Euro 5w40. We’ll see how it goes. The BPY engines do burn some oil and seemingly tend to destroy oil but read similar experiences in other car forums as well. I wish I would’ve kept better track of my add oil to do an appropriate UOA.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 specs confusing

Seems to me like you read this forum in hopes to find some little comment that rubs you the wrong way that you can jump on. Then get an ego boost by belittling someone over the most insignificant bs. It’s funny the way some people “offer insight” by being completely brusque and insulting. Fine...

Boy, you’re really hellbent over this. And it’s f’n hilarious.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Meaning, I don’t see anything more or less impressive in the add pack/pds than any other more readily available euro oil

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Yes. Just part of the reason I don’t see it worth the slight premium over any other oil I’m potentially going to burn too. What’s the defining characteristic of this euro oil over any other euro oil, that commands it’s slight premium? I don’t see any.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Price and availability more in focus in this equation. If I’m going to burn the oil, why pay more for it? That’s where I’m at. I’d gladly give it another OCI but the best price is $43.—/6-pack on Amazon. Additonaly, I’ve had 2 six packs arrive with bottles burst open and had to send back. That’s...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 specs confusing

Mobil and Castrol sure do sell a lot their 5W-40 jugs off the shelves here in America…

I didn’t make any such claim.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 specs confusing

Can you elaborate on this please? I just want to learn the details of the spec/approvals you mentioned. I’m confused what’s going on with the QS euro 5w-40 now that I’ve scratched the surface. The PDS I looked at was from recently this year and SOPUS still labeled it as “Ultimate Durability”...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 specs confusing

Unfortunately none of the WM’s around here carry the QS Euro 5w40. I can find the 5 qt on WM with a google search but only the 1 qt bottle shows up on their app. Also noticed QS dropped the “Ultimate Durability” moniker and has a new label design as well. The VOAs of these oils show they’re...

Oh, yeah. Forgot about that, Thx for the reminder!!

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

One issue regardless is, I don’t see this Oil worth seeking out any more or paying the off the shelf price for a single bottle when I want to top off. The WMs here still only carry the Euro 0w40. I wish the PP euro 5w40 was available in 5-qt jugs. Additionally, not a very impressive add pack...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 specs confusing

I’m just quick viewing this thread and frustrated the US (at least to my knowledge) doesn’t get the 5 quart jugs. Ordering a 6-pack is a slightly better price than a single bottle price off the shelf. But the PP Euro 0w40 is much cheaper by the jug.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

To be clear, that’s 4.75 qts @ fill and 2.25 qts top-up over 4200 Miles. Was going through just a 6-pack of PP Euro the last two 5K OCIs.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Just a quick update, This is the first OCI running the PP Euro 5w40 SN+ reformulation and I’ve burned through quite a bit. Currently on my 7th quart @ approx 4200 miles. I have no evidence to prove it’s the new formulation, just kinda shocked ATM, my consumption is this high.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Yeah, I think maybe I was referring to the Pennzoil Platinum Racing 5W40. There is slight differences in formulation according to the data sheets. Can’t find a bottle or container photo anywhere but it only states Ferrari approval. There is also the PP Racing 10W-60 that has a few more...

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

It was from an article I read earlier this week similar to this one concerning the Shell and Maserati co-branded oils. I don’t know the details, that’s what I am curious about but it was a specific bottle design none the less. Whether the formulation is different form PP/Shell Helix is unknown...

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

Just curious to learn the different packages and specs across the Brand lineups. I also noticed the new bottle of PP doesn’t have the Ferrari logo. Not a big deal but when I see multiple packaging changes, you have to wonder if the formulation changed or the sponsorship/contract ended or a...

Is this a VW owners manual misprint concerning oil usage?

I was referring to the US manuals starting to include the oil consumption disclaimer. However mine didn’t have it even though the Euro one did. Sorry for the confusion.

My 2.0T fsi loves PP Euro 5w40

I would like to to know the differenence in specs for the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w40 (non-euro version) and the PP Euro 5w40. Aside from the approvals. Pennzoil just can’t seem to settle on their oil names. The Euro 5w40 was also Ultra Platinum up until last year or so.
