Amsoil changed the XL to Extended Life. Looks much closer to SS and rated for 20,000. Good shot of Moly and Boron.

Report says 5100 miles on Valvoline EP but that's a typo it was 4100. I will be sticking with Valvoline EP on 5k runs.

Wanted to see how Amsoil SS 5W30 did in my hard driving 1.6L Turbo in Tampa Summer. Moved here 7 months ago. 4100 miles of traffic, heat and hard Turbo use. Seem to be better than the recommended 0W20. I wanted a higher HTHS. Will go the KIA recommended 6k.

Incase anyone is interested. Blackstone labs is again low on TBN. They always seem to be around 1.5 to 2 low (based off several VOA I have done). Have this oil in my 2020 Tundra and she likes the Moly.

Started using Extended Protection and noticed on the website Advanced has a lower rating on deposits and wear now? If they didn't change Advanced why as a Full Synthetic would now be much less on the deposit listing?

Without asking why or giving personal opinions different would you go PUP every 5k or SS every 7500?

With a PC membersip I can get 9 quarts of SS for $11 more than XL. SS comes in a tad over $100 so one saves $9.99 on shipping. Why would one use XL?

FYSA. Could be mental but Amsoil 0W30 is very smooth in my Tundra. The tick, common with 5.7 is gone. 900 mile trip over Xmas and decent mileage (15.5) round trip. 80/20 Hwy/city. Planning on doing 7500 changes here on out. Click on image to clear blur.

Question, I know Amsoil SS is a well formulated oil. My issue is why is the HTHS of the 0w20 and 5w20 only 2.67? Seems very low for a Group IV/V oil? The OE and XL are 2.8?

Why? Because in Germany Group III can't be labeled 100% Synthetic.

I must say the new GF6 Kendall in my 2020 Tundra is by far the smoothest, no Tundra tick and I feel that little "punch" with slightest throttle tap. I have experimented with Pennzoil Ultra 0W20, Royal Purple 5w20 then these two Amsoil and Kendall) I do 5w20 for a little thicker 100c cst.

Runs smooth in my 2020 Tundra. Titanium is out of Kendalls new formula.

Ok..to prevent negativity just asking from personal experience. Which oil would you go with for 7500 changes on a 2018 Tundra? Both Grp III w maybe a splash of IV but what about add pack?
