How old is too old for a vehicle to be reliable?

Currently oldest vehicle I know is friends old Terrano (Pathfinder in North America) with 2.7 TD. It was all original until last year when engine ingested water. Now is swapped to newer 2.7 tdi. That thing will last next 20 years easily.

European Union Threatening To Ban Chrome Plating beginning in 2023

Most, if not all of chrome plating and pretty much all of manufacturing is done out of EU anyway. We ship stuff to Serbia or Bosnia to get it done.

    BW 44-26 ToD transfer box

Manufacturers spec is ATF Dexron III, and that is what I'm currently using. But of a 2016 on Ravenol formulated new fluid for Borg Warner transfer cases with clutch system and I wonder if that fluid can be used in earlier transver boxes.

    BW 44-26 ToD transfer box

I have a Korean made truck with Borg Warner 44-26 ToD transfer box made in 08. Have been using ATF for the box , but now I'm thinking about Ravenol BW44 lube. Not sure of this is OK for older TCs as Ravenol does not recommend it. Any thoughts?

    Lubricant for P/S box conversion.

Need some advice. I'm converting the P/S box of 4x4 Nissan to be used as a idler arm. Input shaft has been removed as will gearing, only the idler shaft will remain. Should I use the gear oil or maybe engine oil for bearing lubrication opposed to the originally used ATF since there won't be...

BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 initial impressions

Friend had set made in 2020. They relatively early started to loose wet grip ( compared to my Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx) on a similar truck as mine. Hope that isn't generally the case and more truck related.

Who has their winter tires on already?

Mounted winter Continental's on wife's Volvo and some Sava Eskimo on Fiat. Run the Coopers Discover S/T Maxx on my Nissan year round, not a dedicated winter tyre but it does the job.

    Pressurized coolant reservoir

Not sure about American vehicles, but Euro Fords used pressurised expansion tanks just as every other Euro make since mid 70s. Had a 93 Escort that have had failed one when 20y old. My 2002 Nissan 2.7 TD have overflow tank and some 90s Japanese makes used them to that point.

On Euro cars (Fiesta is an Euro vehicle) pressurised expansion tanks are standard for 40+ years. Last vehicles with older system were Japanese cars.

Croatia. Mobil and Castrol are insanely expensive here, fortunately similar Shell and Total are 50% less. SHU and quartz are 25€, mid and low saps are again more expensive. I use FS or mid saps HDEO in my CR DPF diesels and had zero problems to this day with conservative OCI of 10k km. With...
