Oil change after sitting for 2 years

I change the oil in my trail Jeep every few years. It mostly sits outside covered in the Winter. UOA's I completed way back were fine. If it was put away clean, I would probably run it for a bit. Of course, if it bugs you, quality oil is still relatively inexpensive.

    Driving though deep water

Sure, always a good idea after deep water crossings in case of intrusion via seals. I probably wouldn't replace for 18" though, as that is only about halfway up my tires.

    Driving though deep water

<--- The rig on my left has been through some deep water. Maybe 4 feet +/-. Certainly over the tires and filled the tub. It's a PITA, as you need to change the lube in everything afterward.

Replacement 2-stroke oil for Husqvarna XP

I would actually skip the TruFuel after watching Chicanic's youtube videos. Personally, I cut a lot of wood and make 1-2 gallon batches, but if the powersaw is put away for a while, I've had good luck with Harvest King canned fuel from Runnings, which has stabilizer and is FD rated.

2012 Honda Fit brake fluid capacity

Have him check the spark plugs for tightness. My Son in Law's #3 blew out a couple of years ago and #2 loosened up last weekend, but I was able to save it. I had to Timesert #3 and it's been good.

First snowblower re-power of the season

Looks good , man! I used a Pred 212 on my log splitter a couple years ago and it's been awesome. Fires up with a couple of pulls regardless of temp.

Attended a really neat funeral and graveside for a friend today

"Show your love for him by wearing a John Deere, Carhartt, Cardinals, Chiefs, or Dadeville t-shirt to the services." I have to move some wood this afternoon and the first thing I do when I hop on the old Deere is say a prayer for that man's family. Thank you for sharing.

Move over Florida! Iowa is ranked the best place to retire - while Alaska, New York and California come out worst

My wife is a New Hampshire girl and that's probably where we'll end up. That or Maine. We love ATV's, Sleds, Skiing, camping, dirt roads and outdoors. Just a few more years to go.......

    Chainsaw chains

Can't believe I missed this thread! I have about 25 powersaws and this season, the Ash has really been coming in due to the EAB, so I haven't been online much this summer. The tree service has been bringing me oak and beautiful cherry too. Some have been great for milling! I would say my go-to...

In the hunt for a good, reliable, used 4x4 ATV.

Agree with my buds above. $1500 will buy a repair around here. The prices on all levels has been insane. I paid $10K for my '21 Brute Force 750 and they went up over a grand a few months later. I think they're $11.5 now. If you can swing it, a new Rancher would be the way to go. Honda's aren't...

    Teraflex Delta Brake Upgrade

That's a great upgrade. Thanks for the write-up! Brakes are probably the number one overlooked upgrade when lifting your Jeep. <--- I run full-size GM parts on the Pig in my Sig. She stops on a dime.

    Older pushrod V8

I bought some of this on clearance for $16 a jug last Fall. It's a great oil.

    Older pushrod V8

I've been running Castrol 0W40 Euro in my Jeeps. It covers all temps, has about 1000PPM ZDDP and was $22 a jug when I bought a few.

How to install bucking spikes on chainsaw

It looks like 5 and 6 are either/or. I have over 25 powersaws. What saw is this? Bucking spikes typically mount to the chassis and the clutch cover. Even my Chinese clone saw has it's spike screwed into the front of the chassis on the oil tank.

    A Case For Minimalism

Right! 10 year old cah? LOL Looks the same as a 20-30 year old car somewhere else, if not worse.

    Ever break a chainsaw chain?

I had hit a rock or something one time and switched to a Chi-Na backup chain. The master link let go. It didn't do much, just flopped around a bit. It was a waste of money so now all I carry are Oregon EXL's and Stihl RS's.

    chainsaw bar oil

There are B&C oil deals out there if you are patient. I burn and have tree service wood delivered via tri-axle, so I'm cutting a lot. I just bought four gallons of SunJoe for $7.25ea shipped to my door. Before that, I stocked up on Harvest King when it was on sale at Runnings.

To RTV, or not to RTV

No RTV needed for a rubber pan gasket. I don't see any torque rings in the gasket, so pay attention to the spec when tightening. I haven't seen a Dodge Shadow in years around here. They all rotted away. They were quick little cars.

Screwdrivers - which ones do you actually use?

I typically use Screwdrivers that have pulp in them. In all seriousness, in the building automation industry, I have probably used my Klein multi-bit the most.
