I've had that happen several years back with a bottle of Mobil 2 cycle oil.

I've had the same thing happen with a number of tools of various brands.

The oem Toyota batteries are usually pretty good from my experience. It's worth checking with the dealer.

The Briggs manuals recommend straight 30 weight for their older engines, but it is getting harder to find. I have looked at Supertech, Rotella, or even just using 10w-30. What do you use or recommend in this case?

My previous post was completely wrong. Check needle and seat area for condition and/or trash or buildup. Make sure spring is in postion and that lever where needle is attached is adjusted correctly. Also diaphragm not deteriorated or stiff.

Have you checked needle and seat and needle setting.

I change mine on my Tacoma every few years unless I see a problem. Back when I was a teenager and first started changing oil, I don't even think the cars I changed oil on had washers.

Just for the heck of it, when my brother's monitor failed, I replaced about 9 capacitors in his monitor. It fixed it. In videos I watched, it said don't bother with the large capacitor as it never fails, but it checked the worst of the 9 on my capacitance meter. Total cost was about $15.

Plastic welding may be best, but there is a product called SealAll.
