Fram Ultra fits, but Fram Endurance doesn't?

Cool! I hadn't seen them because none of them "fit" my car. They're gold, so that means they're the best haha

Fram Ultra fits, but Fram Endurance doesn't?

They said only the FE wouldn't fit. Every other model ending in 4967 fits. The slightly longer 4386 size fits too, but it's only available as EG and TG now. I just want a 99% 20 micron filter I can use for 2 oil changes 😭

Fram Ultra fits, but Fram Endurance doesn't?

I emailed them, and they said none of the Endurance filters fit my application, but I'd bet they just reiterated the info on the website.

I used the 4386 many times RIP lol

Fram Ultra fits, but Fram Endurance doesn't?

Hi all. 2009 Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix) 2.4L I noticed something perplexing. Per the Fram and Walmart websites, every Fram oil filter with model numbers ending in 4967 are slated to fit my engine, except for the Fram Endurance (FE4967). Oddly, the FE4967 is recommended for the Scion TC...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

Also, thanks to you guys for the tips, advice, and giving me someone to chat with while I was stuck at home for a week lol

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

I fixed it! TLDR, Alternator field coil wire was shorting out against the valve cover, fixed with high temp tape and a new wire loom. The wire that powers the field coil of the alternator runs through the fuse that kept blowing. It gets energized as soon as the car is turned on, unlike the...

    Alternator fuse keeps blowing

I tested the alternator connector for continuity with a multimeter. There are 4 pins in the connector. One of them got a continuous beep, the other 3 got nothing. I can't tell which one is the green wire because of the rubber boot. Does that tell you anything? Maybe the alternator itself has a...

    Alternator fuse keeps blowing

Do you mean the harness that pushes/snaps in and not the post terminal wire? I tried that and the fuse still blew. I would think the back-up lights and defroster wouldn't energize unless I put the car in reverse or turn the defroster on. Is that correct? The fuse usually blows when the car is...

    Alternator fuse keeps blowing

Hi all. 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT 2.4L (Toyota Matrix XRS). I’ve discovered the blown fuse (ECU-IG 2) is associated with the field coil of the alternator (wire labeled “F”). The fuse blow consistently, but sometimes when the car is turned on (no start), sometimes right after the engine is started, or...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

I’ve discovered the blown fuse (ECU-IG 2) is associated with the field coil of the alternator (wire labeled “F”). Can anyone glean any useful information from this?

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

I did the voltage drop test (car turned off). I couldn't remember which probe went where, so I did both. Negative probe to engine block (positive to negative battery terminal), I got 0.3 millivolts. Negative probe to frame, the numbers kept changing, but would usually stop at around 50...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

*Update* I thought of something else to check, so I walked to the mechanic’s shop, which is just across the street. Before I did anything else, I replaced the fuse to make sure it would still blow when I turned on the car, but it didn’t. I then started the car and the fuse still didn’t blow. So...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

The reason I ask is that I don't have much confidence in this shop's diagnostic abilities. Yesterday, a few hours after I dropped it off, the receptionist called me to say they couldn't find any blown fuse, despite me writing them a note explaining where it was located. The last thing I heard...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

Quick question. Is there any reason to do a draw test to diagnose a blown fuse? That's what my mechanic was doing when last I called.

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

I agree. I have an appointment on Thursday, but I'm going to keep troubleshooting in the meantime.

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

I remember the last time this happened, I disconnected some wires from the transmission and adjusted the neutral safety switch before I replaced the fuse (didn't even know a fuse had blown at the time). I wonder if I inadvertently "fixed it" by doing that. I also recently replaced the radiator...

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

So, I disconnected the alternator, the switch for the defogger, and replaced the fuse. The fuse didn't blow with the car on, but blew right after starting. I also pulled the backup lights and everything looked good. I didn't know much about electrical systems, so I'm just giving a play by play.

Fuse keeps blowing, P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction)

The fuse in question is said to control the 1. charging system, 2. rear window defogger, 3. backup lights. Per a recommendation from a Toyota forum, I disconnected the alternator (low voltage connector) and started the car. It ran without blowing the fuse, but then I turned on the rear window...
