Most of these pro chemicals are pet safe when dried. I use Talstar P and it works great.

I tried finding it for my BMW. All I could find was individual quarts for 10-11 a piece. I'm not paying 70 bucks to change my oil. That's two changes with Castrol.

Plumber came back out today to pickup a tool he left here. He removed all the coolant and flushed with fresh water. No charge either!

He mentioned that the shark bite isn't usually used for lower pressure closed loop heating systems. I'm still not sure why there is antifreeze. The pipes are all indoors and not subjected to freezing temps. I can only guess that maybe the previous owner left the house in winter for long periods...

I'm going to get the antifreeze removed from the system ASAP. Here are the pics of the repair.

Thanks for all the feedback! I have no idea how to drain the system, or anything to do with that. My heating guy is coming for the annual boiler service, and I'm sure they can take care of it for me.
