    2014 Mercedes-Benz OM651 // 15,000 mi update // Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W-30

Agreed! My takeaways from two 15k OCIs is that the filter's o-rings start becoming brittle after ~15k. Personally I'd be comfortable changing the oil every 20k mi but changing the filter every 10k (factory interval). That said, I think I'll go back to changing the oil and filter every 10k since...

    2014 Mercedes-Benz OM651 // 15,000 mi update // Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W-30

The 10k sample was extracted through the dipstick while the 15k sample was taken as the oil was draining from the sump. I attribute the inconsistencies in the results to the difference in sampling methods.

Change in evaporation rate over time?

Let's say an oil has a published Noack value of 6% (tested on a virgin sample). At the end of the oil's service interval, say 20,000 miles, would the used oil's Noack value still be 6%? Higher? Lower? We know that most, if not all, lubricant properties change during use. I haven't see any...

Change in evaporation rate over time?

Has anybody seen literature or numbers discussing how an oil's evaporation rate changes over the course of its service life?

    Petro-Canada Duron HDEO?

This stuff looks pretty robust on paper! Any anecdotal experience with the Duron lineup (PDS below)? Who might stock the lineup in British Columbia, particularly the UHP E6 blends?

Looking good! I think I'm reading this report correctly - 9,734 miles on this oil and 43,834 miles on the car? True we didn't get the C-class wagon in the US, but we did get the OM651 for a few years in other models. I love mine!
