    Silicone radiator hose installation

Our law enforcement fleet always had silicon hoses. They are a must for the 24/7 usage in the extreme heat of our area. They don’t leak….

Diff oil to quiet diff whining

Unless your vehicle has sound deadner like a Lexus, you’re going to hear that 4.56. Cargo vans (hollow, no sound deadner) have harmonic rings on the driveshafts to absorb some of the gear whine.

    Thicker oil makes more HP?

Monitoring NASCAR practice sessions with headsets and listening to the crew chiefs keeping tabs on oil pressure and stating the “thin oil” will create lower pressure readings than race day oil pressures. Not sure that’s the “proof” you need but I’ve heard the discussions more than once…

Did piston soak increase my oil consumption?

I don’t know but…all the charter fishing guides that I’ve ever been fishing with swear by it. When they put 1,000 hours a season on their motors they use what works. Not a good answer but that’s what I know. Give me time and I’ll make stuff up….

Did piston soak increase my oil consumption?

And $6k to pull the engine, disassemble, probably machine work, gaskets, and etc. by a shop to install those low quality rings you are referring to. You don’t know the carbon issues in outboard boat motors (2 & 4 stroke)?

Many passionate American CEO's in office today like Lee Iacocca?

We had K-Cars for Fleet vehicles in the 80s. Recall head gaskets but not much else. They were universally hated by employees that drove them.

    Brick Houses? Yes Or No...?

Brick is preferred. The lack of truly skilled tradesmen in the construction segment though is unfortunate and brick veneer houses crack. Those built 40-50-60 years ago didn’t. They understood proper footings etc.. Sure homes under construction are supposed to meet code but the lazy inspectors...

    Is this a bad lifter?

Yes those lifters are worn. Pitted. The cam is pitted to match. Really high mileage or not using high zinc oil?

Coasting to a stop vs down shifting to a stop in manual transmissions

What’s your favorite pattern when replacing carrier bearings using the existing ring and pinion? How do you keep your roller bearings in the cluster gear when reassembling a manual transmission? Are you evaluating both piston skirt sides and not just the trust side during an engine overhaul? Do...

Coasting to a stop vs down shifting to a stop in manual transmissions

I’d rather replace pads-shoes and be easier on my engine, clutch, and drivetrain. You’ve got wear going on the backside of gears when downshifting. Engine tends to pull more oil in the cylinders under high vacuum also. My opinion.
