Not true, propylene glycol in its pure form freezes much sooner. Only when combined with water at at 60/40 ratio is it good for -76 F Same with ethylene glycol in its purest form freezes at -10f but when mixed with water at a 60/40 ratio it lowers the freezing point to -50F. Which blew my mind...

This is because adding water actually lowers the freezing point. Research this, I was actually amazed that in both propylene glycol and ethylene glycol the lowest freezing point is obtained by mixing with water at a 60/40 ratio. 60 being the antifreeze and 40 water.
