    Chlorinated paraffins... Again!

    Chlorinated paraffins... Again!

You're asking the same questions I'm asking. I just want evidence, not the rubbish put out by manufacturers warning people off. There are plenty of scientific journals citing their use in heavy industry, and having previously worked in the metals industry I have first hand use of their...

    Chlorinated paraffins... Again!

The question I'm asking is that there is no real evidence in either direction. There is anecdotal evidence that they are good, and anecdotal evidence that they are bad. I've only experienced good (I continued running the bike for 2 years on same piston and crank). Hence why I'd like to know of...

    Chlorinated paraffins... Again!

I know this topic is done to death, but has anyone got a UOA done after using such an additive? The reason I ask is because probably about 10 years ago I had a kdx200 and used either zx1 or activ8 in the 2 stroke oil. On the first lap of the race the radiators got clogged with mud and I lost all...

    Full SAPS Vs Ester??

Am I wrong? Certain ingredients are also not stated on the MSDS, which also tells me the levels are low

    Full SAPS Vs Ester??

New oils need to be low SAPS to work with catalytic converters, compatibility is stated on almost all datasheets of high performance ester oils.

    Full SAPS Vs Ester??

I think this has gotten side tracked a little bit. Aware that esters are better than fully synthetic. But what I'm asking is, it appears low SAPS oils have been improved to esters to compensate for this, perhaps? So how would a full SAPS older synthetic fare against an ester based lower SAPS oil?

    Full SAPS Vs Ester??

Interesting question or not, I'm not too sure?? So the factory recommended motorcycle oils now are very frequently ester based, they are also significantly lower SAPS content than older oils due to the fact modern bikes have catalytic converters fitted. One can only assume that ester has been...
