so there was an obnoxious amount of oil loss that resulted in vvt camshaft roller damage... the valve clacking noise on a cold start is gone (for now)but the only way to know if there is damage is to do an oil analysis So 300 miles later no oil has been lost it's still at the same spot it was...

7500 miles is to make the engine last to 100k if you want it to last much longer you need a lower OCI dirty oil causes: broken hoses failed seals failed engine components .. sludge 4k oci should get it to 250k or more do you have the DOHC vvt then yes 4k OCI also only use top tier gas

4000OCI miles is what i do, if you want to keep the engine clean for the whole time you have it

this is the manufacture spec ( this is a LS2 based engine with LS2 heads non interference engine) Oil Filter 30Y 22 lb ft Oil Pan Drain Plug 25Y 18 lb ft I HIGHLY DOUBT with the space clearance you you could hand tighten it to 22 lb ft.. . see the photo there is no clearance to hand...

my engine popped thanks to a loose oil filter the place i had taken it too forgot to tighten the oil filter and replace the oil plug seal(was leaking there also they claimed) (i would have paid for a new seal if they said something ) they had one job. and failed at it 92k RIP the Unicorn...
