    2011 Kia Soul Radio Weirdness!

This one's a real head scratcher... When I apply the brakes on the car, the radio display dims. The radio continues to work fine, and the brake lights come on as usual. Any ideas?

Thinking about adding drain plugs to K46 hydro.

I've got about 75 hours on my Husqvarna, equipped with the "Dreaded K46 Transmission".I'm aware that regular oil changes in these units is a,good way to make them more reliable and longer lasting. Then, I find out that some bean counter at Husqvarna decided to,save a few cents per unit by...

A question about Troy Bilt 2410 auger gear lubricant

I recently got a Troy Bilt 2410 snowblower. 179cc OHV motor. It is in really good shape. I did a complete maintenance on it before the snow came, even touched up the paint. I have a question about the auger gearbox. It's the box with the little rubber plug on top. Is there a way to check the...

    LED headlight for my snowblower.

Got a pair of these lights off Amazon a few days ago. One is stowed away in the back of my car. The other one wound up being fitted to my snowblower. They were about $25/pair, and run on 4 AA batteries, or 2 18650 rechargable cells. USB charging, and there is a outlet to charge my phone. High...

    Charge Voltage

I had a little digital voltmeter, so I put it on my Husqvarna tractor. I'm getting almost 17 volts after the engine is running a while. I'm well connected to a switched hot wire and a good ground. Any opinions on if this is too high? I know the meter is accurate. (The picture was taken right...

Solid tires on front of an Ariens rear engine rider.

Anyone have any ideas on how they'd work, or have tried it? I have a chance to pick up an old 8hp machine, but both front tires are dry rotted.. If someone did it, what kind of tires did you use?

    Briggs decompression.

You've heard it before.. low hour Intek single cylinder stops at TDC. Checked battery, valve adjustment - no start. I'd seen a video about removing the air filter and putting my hand over the intake to stop air from getting into the cylinder. No better.. Then I got the idea to turn the engine...

MTD Went off to snowblower heaven...

My 20+ year old MTD 8/24 snowblower swallowed as good sized rock a few days ago. The snowplow kindly left it in my driveway, buried in the snow. Sadly, the shear pins did not snap, and the auger gear housing shattered. I was trying to get "just one more winter" out of the old girl, but I wasn't...

    Modded my Stormcat generator.

I posted previously about the brand new Harbor Freight generator I swapped for. Being the tinkerer that I am, I couldn't leave it alone.. Right after I got it, I followed advice I'd read and changed out the plug and cap for NGK items. At the same time, I added a fuel filter and better quality...

    Deal of the week!

We had a garage sale last weekend, and I had some unused stereo equipment for sale. No takers, even for $15.00.. Later in the day I went to Craigslist, and found a BRAND NEW Harbor Freight 2 stroke generator for trade. He wanted stereo equipment in trade. We made the deal, and both walked away...

    Amazing!

Looks like a cool model of an old Knucklehead doesn't it? It runs. The Kickstarter works. The spokes are individually made, and laced. The gearbox shifts. The chain is functional, and the speedometer actually works.

LED lighting in my Husqvarna lawn tractor.

This is kinda odd. I thought lawn tractors ran the headlight bulbs off of AC from the generator. I know the AC is rectified and regulated to charge the battery. I had a couple of LED tail light bulbs left over from changing my Kia Soul to LEDs, and just for giggles I replaced the stock...

    Long lived Yamaha

First, I'd like to thank the forum administrator for letting me become a member. I'm the proud owner of a 1985 Yamaha Vmax motorcycle. As of today, it's got 134,200 miles on the odometer. ( actually the odo READS 34,200 - the 100,000 mile digit doesn't show on the analog odometer.) I thank...
