Will this stuff seal a gas tank leak?

If you use the aviation gasket material it will seal gas but you will need to use a screw in the hole as it never cures hard. Seal All is what I have had best luck with. I had no luck with JB Weld or Quicksteel.

Tire balance bead experiment - do they work?

I tried them several years ago. They worked great on a straight smooth road. They did not work below 35 mph and did not work as well on really rough roads and hard curves. I threw them away and now use a Harbor Freight bubble balancer. There is a learning curve with the bubble balancer but it is...

    Power Tilt and Trim Fluid

There are boating forums where people will give you answers and have years of experience. I have owned boats for 20+ years but don't consider myself an expert. I will share my experience. I use Dexron atf. I personally choose it over trim fluid. The boating forums generally say the seals will...

Earn a $20 Gift Card with a qualifying Pennzoil Platinum® Full Synthetic motor oil purchase at participating locations. Offer ends 9/30/23

I got the rebate. I told my uncle and he also bought 2 and ask me to submit for him online. I tried and the website said he had already submitted but he had not. He said not to worry. He would take the Pennzoil back and keep using Valvoline. I did not know how to make it go through for him. I...

Recommendations for a Handheld Gas Blower

I had seen that and mine can not be tuned out. I went even farther and went into the carb to measure the metering valve and check the needle. This one can not be improved. I use 100% gas without ethanol. Hate to hear that Husqvarna uses the same carb. Thanks for info.

Recommendations for a Handheld Gas Blower

I use Amsoil Saber mixed 50 to 1. I can blow off my equipment and am ready to move on in 60 seconds. I had an old Craftsman 200 mph for the last 10 years and it would rev up and blow for 60 seconds and I was done. Wish I had it back.

Recommendations for a Handheld Gas Blower

5 weeks ago I bought an Echo PB2520 and am very unhappy with it. It will not operate at full power or full throttle until the engine is completely warmed up. It takes 3 to 5 minutes to warm up. After it gets warmed up it blows with more force than any other hand held I have owned. I spend more...

    4L60E Issues and Proactive Service

I have a 2005 model like yours and also tried the Maxlife as it seems to be rated for about everything. That was at the 180,000 mile mark and my transmission started having shift issues. After several weeks of not acting right I drained the Maxlife - changed the filter again - and flushed all...

Mercury 60hp 4 stroke outboard oil analysis.

Keep an eye on your oil level. Gas in the oil along with moisture from the atmosphere can make the oil level rise. I have the same motor and try to fill mine to about half way on the stick. Oil level has only ever gone down 1 time but has gone up many times. I am around 1100 hours now. I have...

Is there a tire that's tougher than a normal all season, but not quite A/T

    1. Kumho Crugen HT 2. Michelin Defender 3. FIrestone Destination LE I have tried more aggressive for winter but keep coming back to these because of the quiet smooth ride the other 9 months of the year.

2008 Tahoe with 250K miles - change transmission fluid?

Mine is a 13 bolt deep pan and it takes 5 quarts with the pan removed a a new filter installed. mine is an 05 and does better with dex 3 but I change every 30k miles. mine has 235k and pulls a trailer at least 2x a week. this week it was pulling a trailer 3 days. I use it but don't abuse it...

    anti siphon valve

THe anti-siphon valve is built in the elbow in the lower left of the picture. The elbow combination anti siphon valve has the fuel line attached or at least that is the way mine is. The round thing with the nut on top is the fuel guage.

How do you select the correct oil type for a brushcutter?

Another vote for Amsoil Saber. I run at 50/1. No smell and barely any smoke. I started using it 10 years ago and have not cleaned an exhaust screen since. Buy a quart for about $16-17 and it is much cheaper than buying the small bottles from the others. Also use non-ethanol gas if possible.

Trying to find a good marine grease for trailer bearings that work in cold temps

I use the Lucas Marine grease and see a drop point temp of 570 but cannot find where it is unusable below 0. The Technical Data Sheet shows low temp torque -40C at a max of 15.5. Where can I find the info that shows the grease is not usable below 0?

Best filter choices for GM 4.8/5.3 in dusty conditions

The oil pan can be taken off of a 2005 5.3 by taking the front chunk loose and letting it drop down a little. Use a jack under it to control the weight. I actually removed the jack and had to pull down just a little. Not a fun job. I took my time and it took about 5-6 hours. Oring cost about $5...

Michelin Defender vs FS Destination LE3...are the Michelins really worth the extra cheese?

I have bought Michelins for the past 12 years. This year I bought a set of Kumho Crugen HT51 for $370 less than Michelins. I liked them and then bought a second set for the other vehicle. I would compare them more to the original Michelin LTX MS and less like the Defender. I actually liked the...

    Craftsman WS2400 vs Husqvarna 128LD

The Husqvarna 525L is 329 at Lowes. It is a light and powerful trimmer. The 525LS and 525LST are even more so. I have a Husqvarna 525L and a Stihl FS56C. For heavy stuff I like the Stihl better. The FS56C has bicycle handlebars and a shoulder strap. I can use it much longer without fatigue. The...
