Attention All With Onstar on their Cars

My understanding/reasoning is it prevents them from getting new information/any information for those who don't have any.

Attention All With Onstar on their Cars

My recommendation would be to opt out of Lexis Nexis. I just filled this out. https://optout.lexisnexis.com/

    KYB Strut Plus SUCK

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had these problems with KYB. I put KYB quick struts on a family members 2007 Camry because the left front spring broke. They have been making all this noise just like OP described. I'm probably going to build new struts with Toyota OEM parts.

Best Winter tire for FWD with a bit too much power....

I used to have this problem when I had my Chevy Cruze and ran winter tires. I haven't had the car in 4 years, but I tried Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental winter tires and they all spun in the wet.

$898 for boiler repair, heat in house: priceless

I have a Weil McClain Boiler Series 3 in my house which is about 10 years old and has never been serviced. I wanted to get it serviced as per the owners manual, which involves buying a ~60 dollar kit from the vendor and cleaning the heat exchanger. Literally the steps are in the owners manual...

Need to get an all in one ink jet. Recommend one not junk.

The Epson Eco tank is the best I've found. You pay a bit more to start, but the ink is dirt cheap.

    Hub Buster

My Dad has one of these. He's generally had favorable experiences with it. I however have only used it once myself on the front hub of my Pap's 2002 GMC truck. Even with a 12-pound sledge I couldn't get the hub out with it. A harbor freight chief air hammer ended up getting the assembly loose.

Fresh tires on the front or rear?

There is a website called ChampTires that I've used a few times when only 1 tire was needed. I've seen brand name tires like Michelin and Pirelli before with 9-10/32nds tread for less than a brand new no-name tire. I suggested this to a friend of mine who got 2 Michelin Defenders with 10/32nds...

    BFG ATKO2 Reviews

I've never owned a car with them, but I've driven vehicles with them for short periods of time. On a Toyota Tundra they really struggled to grab in the wet when taking off normally from a stop light in 2WD.

    Black vs. green a/c o-rings

I'm not the authority on this, but I've tried those generic AC o-rings before and had leaks. The worst was on my Subaru which caused the refrigerant to leak out within 8 months. When I changed the o-ring, they were flat and worn out.

Feeling ripped off after paying for road force balance

Most of these tire shops have ridiculously high numbers for "passing" Roadforce. I went through this with my Regal. Anything above 12 or so pounds of roadforce starts to cause vibrations. GM lists 15 pounds of Roadforce as the recommended number for a car. Discount Tire was saying something...

    Michelin CrossClimate2 Tread Life

I have these tires on 3 vehicles in my family. All of them are wearing very well. Even on the Sienna, which has destroyed every set of tires so far.

Which tire brand and model within that brand last the longest miles.

Michelin CrossClimate 2s seem to be the longest lasting tire I have found. They even seem to be wearing well on my Mom's Sienna. Make sure your alignment is good on that Odyssey. I know the rear control arms tend to get out of spec with too much camber as the rear springs sag.

1 bad tire, what would you do?

I have had success finding used tires on Champ Tires. They are usually very reasonably priced. At 5/32nds I'd probably only be running those tires for a short time longer. Do you like the tires? If not, maybe this is a good time to take advantage of a rebate on a set of 4 new tires.

New tires make steering feel “loose”

I had this happen to me on my Regal with a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires. I believe the sidewalls were too soft as they made my Regal feel like driving a boat. The steering felt so vague and when it was windy the car felt like it wallowed all over the road. I added air and...

2WD Trucks and Wet Traction - a losing battle?

My Silverado came with General Grabber HTS tires. I had to merge from a dead stop onto the PA turnpike during a rainstorm. Even putting the pedal to the floor didn't cause the tires to spin. My truck was in 2WD and also has an auto locking rear end. The Michelin Defenders I have on there now...

How often should you "test" your cellphone?

All electronic devices eventually need a reboot. That's just a fact of life. I have experienced similar phenomena with both iPhones and Android phones. A reboot should fix the problem. I suspect that something starts to get wonky between the cell provider and the phone, and restarting...

    GM 8 Speed Automatic-Lawsuit

The only complaint I have with the 8 speed after 5k in my 22 Silverado is the first 1-2 shift when cold. Half the time it feels like it's not going to shift then bangs into gear. My understanding is because the fluid pump isn't big enough and can't make up for the pressure bleed off. After that...

14 Forester XT - Replace or Keep ~ 3.4/32” Average Tread Depth

My question is how much is your insurance deductible? I wouldn't drive on those tires if I got any amount of rain.

LG Washer finally said no more, I can't.

    I'd buy another LG.
