Is the recommended 0-20 bad for engine life?

Sure the motor will last on 0w20. Wonder if higher viscosity oils would help keep the motor operating closer to design specifications over the ownership duration.

Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

EFI is is probably better than GDI in most situations. Idle / low / mid loads. Perhaps high loads GDI has advantage. Fuel spray upstream of intake port probably results in better atomized fuel and air mixture for a cleaner burn.

Getting extremely confused on what to use in 2021 Veloster N

If you're going with ACEA C2 oil, might as well find one with the stringent MB229.52 approval.

    Moly or Boron preference?

Approvals are series of controlled tests conducted on oil. However, the approvals don't demonstrate the absolute performance of said oils. In theory and probably in practice too, there are oils out there with identical approvals but different overall performance levels. For example, oil "A"...

    High or Low Viscosity.

Pro of thick oil - better wear protection, oil hold up better to heat, less effected by fuel dilation. Pro of thin oil - improved cold start, slightly cooler oil temps and possibly enhanced fuel economy.

    0w-8 has gone mainstream. M1 AFE 0w-8.

Haven't had Toyota in ages, recently got to drive 2010 is350 Lexus with 100,000km on the odometer, but the engine and drivetrain felt really frictionless and light as a feather, spins fast and smooth. Would not hesitate to use the the oil viscosity specified by Toyota.

Why/ why not run oil level at MIN?

Not sure if still the case, but Nissan's have small oil capacities for the given motor size.

    Oil Change: Hot or Cold?

With a top side extractor, putting vehicle on a slope will allow the oil to pool at the edge of the pan, this way you will extract every last drop of oil. Won't make much of a difference if cold or hot.

    VR30

Mainly the extra viscosity and higher HTHS of a 30 grade would yield additional protection for a relatively high pressured 3.0L pushing 400hp Especially if driven hard. Not to mention being Turbo/GDI there's also the added margin for fuel dilution compared to 20 grade oil. 5w30 or 0w30 is...

Pennzoil Euro 0w30 LX Best of all worlds. Almost a 20 grade oil viscosity at startup (58 cSt) and 40 grade at operating temps (12 cSt)

    Penzoil Euro 0W-30 LX

Likely the target application of this oil does not require API spec.
