    How to drive CVT

It's a geared cvt not a belt/chain one. If it's a belt or chain one let it roll before touching the gas and once it starts to accelerate you can go down a bit and hold or gradually go down. If I take my foot of the brake on the outlander sport and quickly accelerate even lightly it jumps a...

11 Hyundai Elantra 1.8L engine PSF capacity?

https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/elantra-2013-transmission-steering-fluid.162359/ The second post says since 2007 they're all electric.

11 Hyundai Elantra 1.8L engine PSF capacity?

I could've sworn hyundai and kias have been electric power steering since 2009 or thereabouts from what i've read.

Anyone ever change oil in rental car?

Heck no. If anything I'm gonna change the oil with 0w-8 to see what happens and maybe save some bucks over 1600 miles.

Breaking in new vehicle with VRP

I'd at least wait some amount of time. I'm using euro rated 0/5w-40 in my 2021's 6.2 instead of awful 0w-20 and the ring cleanliness is much better than cheap dexos 1 gen 3 oils which can be made in a synthetic blend oil and isn't impressive. After 46k no increase in oil consumption at all. It...

    Delo 400 SD 15W-30 Substitute?

The 7.3 is happy with whatever hdeo is in it and it takes a lot of oil. If it was mine I'd use this 15w-40 first as that's what both of my old trucks get and they love it. I'd use the 10w-30 if it gets near 0f. Mag 1 is the house brand of warren highline and they make supertech and other oils so...

    Delo 400 SD 15W-30 Substitute?

Does it? it's 4.1 or 4.2 hths and iirc the volvo vds 4.5 spec doesn't allow 40 grades to go below 3.9 and 30 grades below 3.4.

    0W-20 vs 0W-40 in GM 2.0 turbo

It did when I switched from 20 to 40 in my l87 years ago. Thicker in general reduces consumption but not always and very rarely may it increase it but changing from one 0w-20 to another can do the same thing too. The l87 is vvt too and toyotas spec everything from 0w-20 to 20w-50 outside of the...

    Increased Boost vs Viscosity?

Wow I didn't know you were a psychic, how'd you know? What're the next powerball numbers gonna be? I had to look up the spelling to make sure and it says ESP in there. Doesn't get more prophetic than that.

2019 MB GLK 400 rear brakes. Pad and rotor sugggestions.

Don't these newer cars require a bidirectional scanner to do brakes or is this one spared.

Toyota 2GR-FE oil grades in Australia 5W-30 to 20W-50

Someone on here is using 15w-50 instead of 0w-16 in their toyota. Can't remember the thread but any engine can run thick if the starting temperature permits.

This is a rental car rant

I rented one in mexico years ago and it wasn't bad for two people. The AC was fine at the stop and wasn't slow enough to be a death trap. I think you got a clapped out one.

    Don’t buy Temu drill bits

I thought that was a given. Every cheap chinese drill bit or allen wrench i've used rounded off immediately. Haven't touched them in forever, it's never worth the hassle.

    Two Stroke Oil Question

It'll work fine though they're not made for the same environment before someone on here tells me off. Marine oil doesn't need to have the cold performance snowmobile oil has. Marine oil has a bit more corrosion inhibitors but I doubt you'll have any issue in the short term. Is there a canadian...

What is this odd but neat style of subdivision house called exactly.

I'll likely downsize to something smaller simple and lower cost and maintenance like this in the future but it's just an idea at the moment. Having a huge front and back yard with 5 large trees and gardens front and back is an annoyance and I'm over it.

Why isn’t there a group III base oil type lubricant for piston powered aviation engines?

Locomotive diesel oil and delo adf 600 are similar in that regard. Mostly ashless and have no zinc or phosphorous. It doesn't face the challenges of leaded avgas but are still synthetic blend at most. From what I know it's because synthetic bases are less reactive because they're more linear and...

Why isn’t there a group III base oil type lubricant for piston powered aviation engines?

If the engine manufacturer changes an oil specification and more importantly maintenance/service guidelines maybe but for the most part I don't think so.

What is this odd but neat style of subdivision house called exactly.

I agree but if I didn't have a lot to spend and only had 1 or 2 kids I think this is decent.

What is this odd but neat style of subdivision house called exactly.

I've never seen houses built particularly like this until yesterday where they're long and narrow on a rectangular plot with the garages only in the back and a long narrow back yard on one side with garages facing garages and fronts facing fronts. I'm not against it in fact I think it's clever...
