Hi, Just picked up a new Yamaha MT09 and noticed the oil level was a bit high. I took some out and was a bit surprised it was so dark, it’s only done 50 miles. See photo. Does this look normal to you guys?

But if the coolant is at the min level does that impact the ability to cool the engine? As in less coolant in the system?

no, the oil wasn’t foamy but didn’t know if when the engine stops the foam disappears. I checked it about 20 mins after I turned off the engine and no foam in the sight glass.

Thx! Yep, I have a horizontal oil filter which I prime as best I can. If oil is still coating some of the engine and I prime the filter, why does the low oil pressure light come on for a second or two?

Quick general question if you don't mind for you more engineering-minded people... When changing your oil and oil filter, does the first start-up (dry start) straight after cause any more wear/harm to the engine than a regular engine start? Asking for a [censored] who changed his oil twice...
