Was at Wally World yesterday and happened to find this “older” filter on the shelve…
Box was opened on both ends, no seal and looked like something you would see at a garage sale???
Anyway looked at the filter and it looked fine so I bought it.
Have a 2016 Accord and wanted to get the correct spark plugs, GDI. Went to one of those after market OEM parts dealers and couldn’t believe the price…OEM or NGK for $43.67/ea, on “sale” for $32.75/ea. Found them on Amazon for $17.91/ea, but still. Not sure what the recommended change frequency...
This winter I will need to leave a vehicle sit for a couple months and was thinking about some things that should be done…concerned about starting it after sitting for two months. I do live in a cold climate, but the vehicle is stored in a heated (50F) garage.

For those who cut open filters,
For years now I have had no problem running a high end 20K mile rated filters for two oil changes...6000 - 7500 miles per change. And actually back in the day when I was working full time, three kids driving, and five vehicles I did the Amsoil + Amsoil filter on...
Fram Ultras look like a nice filter… but a real PITA to deal with!!! Not enough room to get my hand on it to take it off, or use a “conventional” filter wrench. So, I have to tap a cap wrench on wrench on with a hammer…and tap it back off after removing the filter.
I put a Mobil 1 back on, Mobil...
Here you go, in case an Escalade or Navigator doesn’t fit your needs...
Starting pricing for the large three-row SUV ranges from roughly $87,000 to $104,000. A fully loaded model will top $111,000, according to Jeep.
Probably over thinking this, but recent discussions around a failed Fram Ultra filter leading to subsequent engine failure along with the fact that we just purchased a new vehicle last Thursday got me thinking...
So as engine normal operating oil pressures vary with manufacturers...along with...
My wife has, and always has had back issues with vehicles. I have been looking for a mid-sized SUV with comfortable seats. There is no gray area here, with-in a couple blocks on a test drive she knows. It doesn’t seem like the options are any better now than they were years ago. Generally what I...
My wife has issues with here back while riding in cars. I have read that Volvo has good seat’s in their cars...or maybe it is just a pipe dream thinking you can have a comfortable car seat?
Now retired and Having gone through three kids in college, I have owned a ton of vehicles over the...

Driving Style: Rural...minimum 10mi drive (one way) every time the vehicle is used. 20k mi per year, so I change the oil like every three...
My wife is currently driving a TGDI fuel diluter, and loves the vehicle...so I am dealing with it by using 0W30 oil vs 0W20 and doing 5000mi OCI (60% live left according to the MM).
Was on the Total Lubrication web site and found some interesting discussion regarding fuel Dilution,
"For this...
I remember back 20yrs ago when we all (myself included) thought that the automotive industry was coming to an end when they brought on 0W20 oil. Today many Owners Manuals list 0W20 as the only "recommended" grade...some are now recommending 0W16!
Recently bought a used 2018 motorhome on a Ford chassis with the gas V10 in it, 11K mikes. The RV dealership said they just changed the oil so I drove it approx 1000 miles back home. While underneath doing a chassis lube I noticed the oil filter...white, with no markings identifying who who the...
Lots of debate on DI engine fuel dilution, and "thin" 0W20 oils. Attach is a technical bulliten from Polaris Labs on the subject...interesting read.

Per my 2016 Honda Accord (4cyl) Owners Manual,
Recommended Engine Oil:
- Honda "Genuine" Motor Oil
- Premium grade 0W-20 detergent oil with API Certification Seal
You may also use synthetic motor oil if it is labeled with the API Certification Seal.
A few thoughts,
