    Viscosity Suggestions -- 1990 e350 Motorhome 351W EFI

I can imagine. I am not sure why that engine was chosen for this rig, I think a 460 would have been a better choice just by force of more cubes. I even read some information that the I-6 might even be a better choice because the torque curve is exceptionally flat. The only think I can think is...

    Viscosity Suggestions -- 1990 e350 Motorhome 351W EFI

It's funny because I have a 1985 corvette, and it makes about the same hp/torque as this motor home. In the corvette, it will go up a huge hill in its overdrive gear running like 1400 or less on the tach. I drove this motorhome 20 miles to get it to my house and the RPMs run much higher -- I'm...

    Viscosity Suggestions -- 1990 e350 Motorhome 351W EFI

I wonder how much of a pain an oil temp sensor would be on this engine. This is my first ford so I know little about the systems vs. my usual sbc's.

    Viscosity Suggestions -- 1990 e350 Motorhome 351W EFI

I picked up a class c motorhome with no documentation. I have ascertained that it has the 351W (5.8L) V8 with 86k miles. Viscosity suggestions?

Will Thinner Oils Damage Your Engine?

I'm no expert here, but doesn't longevity of things that need each other to define kind of make this a dumb argument? I mean the spectrum of possibilities includes considering that a terrible engine could still be terrible with any oil, and a great engine could be great with any oil based on...

Kia manual allows 5w20 and 5w30 but not 0w20?

These things get up to temp so fast I would bet money there is no difference in unit life between basically anything within a reasonable grade range. As far as a warranty denial I just don't see it based on oil testing. There are posts on here that show differences in the same samples when...

Never thought I would say this bout oil

I'm not criticizing anyone else's approach to their vehicle or maintenance choices because it is their stuff and time. I will say I appreciate the folks who do this sort of data collection and analysis because it shows me how little any of this stuff matters even a little bit. I think the old...

Why do people run higher weight oil in summer?

The oil temperature differences between winter and summer are likely not different enough to make any difference one way or the other in my experience especially during the "stuck in traffic with AC on scenario." Few vehicles have an oil temperature gauge. My 85 Corvette happens to have one...
