    Synthetic 20W-50

I ended up using Castrol Go! 20w-50 motorcycle oil. It should be designed and suitable for all air cooled engines. Doesn't indicate that it's a synthetic so must be conventional.

    Roofing shingle choice

metal roofs can be problematic too. I think some recommend the roof to be strapped with 1x4 strapping. the OSB doesn't hold as well and if screws are over tightened it can cause damage to the rubber gaskets. Too loose, and they will leak moisture as well. I have heard that the holes in the...

    Mens PSA, Prostate health

I had MRI of lower back and found moderate to severe degenerative disc disease, and compression of the L5 nerve roots. A hemagioma at S2 segment, and disc osteophyte complex bulges. I feel some relief knowing that they can finally see the pain I have been describing to Dr.s over the past 2 - 3...

SAE 80 or SAE 90 replacement

I have an older Satah S470 Buck tractor. I am replacing the front diff oil/ front wheel assist. The manual recommends a SAE 80 or SAE 90 oil. Would there be any issue using a multigrade SAE 80W-90?

    Mens PSA, Prostate health

Are the reference numbers in the USA the same measurement 1.3 ug/L is still in the mid normal range. I have been at the upper normal range since 2021testing 2.4 ug/L, & a normal range is 0-2. for 49 year old They done another test 2 year's later, and it was up to 4.8, but with my age increasing...

    Automotive Lubricant Analysis

I think it is a good way to monitor engine health. Especially when you plan on owning your vehicle for the long term. It can help to determine how often your oil change interval should be, based on additive depletion, changes in oil viscosity, fuel dilution, etc., as well as monitoring for any...

    Mens PSA, Prostate health

I have just recently received the results of the last bloodwork, & PSA has dropped from 5.2 to 4.3, with the upper normal high level range being 3.5. I am off to see the Urologist on Friday to see what he has to tell me. I feel like I want to avoid having a biopsy at my age which seems early...

    Mens PSA, Prostate health

I am almost 52, and have been monitoring my Prostate health with the PSA blood test for about 7 years. My father has also had an enlarged prostate for almost 30 years, & it is hereditary. They have never done anything to treat it, & he will be 82 this fall. I understand there is a urine test...

Ever had a engine or Transmission failure?

many years back. 1999 ford explorer 4.0 liter. It had an external coolant leak/ faulty head gasket from what the dealer told me. It wasn't overly high mileage on it. took to Ford dealer to have head gasket replaced. I didn't make it 60 miles and the engine started making abnormal noise. The...

    First UOA

I am also from Canada. I have used Fluid Life in Edmonton & AGAT labs in Lloydminster AB. Each of these have multiple locations that should be in your area, and likely priced better. I am able to hand deliver my samples to save on shipping charges. My sample were about $30.00 with AGAT

    First UOA

I hardly look at any Blackstone test results. Not sure why they are so popular. They seem to try to push for extended drain intervals. sent one sample to them, and identical sample to another lab. The one lab said my sample was due for replacement as additives have dropped out, & Blackstone...

AmsOil for my Chevy Cruise Diesel

I agree with it being a great oil, but it isn't a cure all for a vehicle that already has problems. I thought I could use it in a 199 Explorer that I had at one time to extend oil Change interval, after a freshly rebuilt engine. I sent an oil analysis away at 5000 kilometers, & found that the...

Kawasaki FR730V 230 cca supplied battery

what mower is it in? I ask because I have a 2022 cub cadet. only has about 15 hours on the meter. Battery drained down to 8.6 volts over winter in heated storage. I never disconnected the cables in storage. I now have the cables unhooked & seems to be accepting a full charge, but plan on...

Oil Turned Dark in 40 miles.

It is hard to tell by color only. You say fuel dilution? Are you just going from smell? I always smell a gasoline odor in my oil, but rarely see fuel dilutuion at severe levels. & by smell I can't determine if one sample was worse than a previous until I get results back. Drive it for half...

    Synthetic 20W-50

Probably go with this one. cant seem to find specs on the SynPower. Maybe the same stuff. 20w-50 gives me a wide range of temps, and should have lots high enough HTHS. Might go back to the dealer and see what they have to offer.

    Synthetic 20W-50

A 15W-50 would probably be as well as a 20W-50. A 10W-40 would probably be fine too. Just thought the 50 would have a higher HTHS rating. 20W-50 gets me down to freezing temps. I will not have a need to start it at these temperatures, & if I do it will be in a heated structure.

    Synthetic 20W-50

I recently purchased a Cub Cadet Z-Force SX Zero turn mower. It has the Kawasaki FR730V Engine. They are an air cooled engine, with a 2.2 liter oil capacity, & no oil cooler. I think I am looking for an engine oil with a good HTHS quality. Has anyone used the Valvoline SynPower Motor Oil...
