75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Oh. Maybe. I was just reading another thread on here about it. It could have been older. I did contact one of my local dealerships here. They don’t know what’s in their OEM fluid either. I sent an email to AAM, manufacturer of the axle, to see what fluid it should take, but nothing back from...

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

I wonder if the OEM Dodge/Chrysler 75W-90 is the Mobil 1 Delvac oil? I was reading another thread about Mobil 1 making these oild for Dodge/Chrysler.

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Ah, thanks. I thought those both came from the same Delvac product download page. Weird. I don't think the LS version is even for sale in the USA.

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Oh, interesting. Funny! I've been stuck like that before too! :)

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Well, I was reading notes from a company called Torsen, that makes a helical LSD, that the LSD additive does affect the "torque" bias and will cause the differential to behave more "open", when it should be locked. I don't know how these AAM 11.5" helical LSD axles behave without any friction...

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Thanks for the comment. Are those an LSD, or a full on-demand locker?

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Interesting. I was trying to figure out how this whole line of "Delvac" products differs from the typical Mobil 1 products. I wonder if the base oil and pressure package is the same for the 75W-90 with the LSD additive (personal vehicles) and the Delvac 75W-90 (commercial product line?).

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

I a Holy wow! Weird. This is the first time I've seen that happen, anywhere. Thanks for pointing this out! It does look like it's out of stock for a few weeks though. :).

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Yeah, those seem to be plentiful. The version without LSD additive is tougher to find.

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

Gotcha. Do the later model Ram trucks still have the AAM axles in them?

75W-90 Synthetic WITHOUT Limited Slip Additive - Mobil Delvac?

So, I am changing the rear axle oil in my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. It has a Limited Slip differential in it (helical type), and generally, it's understood that no friction modified or LSD additive is necessary. Also the Dodge user manual (with poor punctuation) appears to say, NOT to use any...

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Interesting. Ok, I'll search through the site a bit. Any idea what the primary difference is between the Long Life and the Super Long Life formulas? Most of the aftermarket companies seem to suggest these coolants changed circa 2009. I'm guessing they are designed more for the increased...

Oh wow!! Crazy!! Is that a diesel product or something similar?

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Ah, interesting...so what is in the Toyota Red then? Is there phosphate or another inorganic component? I noticed the Recochem product suggests the Red is for OAT, but then they say you want their Pink coolant if you want the phosphate additive...suggesting their Red does not have the...

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Interesting...I wonder if that is because they are not economical as diluted Pink. Irritating Toyota only makes the Pink in diluted form. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the Pink and the Red now. I haven't landed on a strong resource explaining that yet.

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Interesting...I've never heard of that brand before. What's interesting is...they suggest the difference between the Red and Pink might be the phosphate added (Recochem says their Pink is Phosphated OAT and their Red is OAT). I was trying to find info specifically on the Toyota Red having...

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Thanks! I missed your comment earlier. Yeah, whereas these coolants are only marketed as being good for 5 years (though Peak suggests a service life up to 150K miles if you can get that many on the car in 5 years), I can see the value even if I sell the vehicle sooner. I want good performance...

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Ah, thanks for the explanation! I missed that comment on the 6 flushes. I used to do this with a fairly elaborate setup with a pump and a reservoir of distilled water. I don't have that available to me right now, so thanks for commenting about this. I was considering doing the same as you...

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

There is plenty of reason for confusion here, but I think I'm whittling through it. What hung me up is the "technicality" suggested by Peak, that their Phosphate is the inorganic part of the hybrid. Peak said (on the phone) their product is "technically" a hybrid, but they market it as P-OAT...
