If I did it right, these should be before I cleaned it up.

    Oils for old engines

Hello all, I've been restoring a '69 Sears Suburban SS12 with the original Tecumseh HH120 in it. The PO said it didn't use any oil, and for the short time I ran it before tearing it down, I didn't notice any consumption. I tore the engine down, decarbed the head and piston, the rings are...

    Equivalent?

I appreciate the advice guys... I'll probably go with a 75w-90 then. I'm sure any brand should be sufficient? I doubt I need to run Royal Purple when it would probably love Super-Tech, lol.

    Chain style for ag tires

Hello all, Restoring a '69 Sears Suburban SS12, decided to go with Deestone ag tires on the rear, was curious to what style of chains you think would work best for plowing snow, 2 link, 4 link, euro style? It's a gravel driveway on a decent incline. Whatever style I go with, I plan on getting...

    Starter/Generator bearing grease

I did the best I could to clean them out, first was a shot of brake cleaner, then a soak in diesel fuel, then another shot of brake cleaner, then a cycle through the ultrasonic cleaner.

    Starter/Generator bearing grease

Sorry, yes, they are roller bearings. When I bench tested the unit, I thought it had a bad bearing, but the ancient, hard grease mixed with the carbon from brush wear had them turning rough. After a run through the ultra-sonic cleaner, they run freely again.

    Starter/Generator bearing grease

Hello all, I'm rebuilding the Delco/Remy starter/generator for my 1969 Sears Suburban tractor and was wondering what grease I should use to repack the internal bearings with? I was thinking of using Mobil Polyrex EM, but wasn't sure if I just stick to a bearing grease that isn't rated for...

What's your favorite outboard and why ??

My main engine is a 1987 Johnson 60 hp, and my kicker is a 1972 Johnson 6 hp, both run great.

I think the st16 was blue, depends on the year too. As far as brakes, I put new brake liner on it. I'm running 2 sets of ag tires on the rear with a combined 24 gallons of antifreeze plus the wheel weights are 30 lbs each. On the tires, I have 2 sets of 2 link v-bar chains, I haven't had an...
