Dumped the GC out of my BMW 318iS with M42 engine this weekend after 8000 miles. Replaced it with Pentosin 5w-40 and found immediate noticable difference. The start-up clatter is virtually gone and the engine is much quieter. I think I'll stick to the 40 wts. from now on for these older Bimmers.

BMW 325 with the M20 engine. I'll do the analysis after about 7500 miles mostly because I seem to have caught the BITOG bug visiting this site. German oil in my German car seems appropriate, though I may try GC in the M42 DOHC 4 cylinder engine in one of the other BMWs, haven't decided.
