New (old) Hyundai Oil Filters From RockAuto?

Just purchased a few Hyundai OEM oil filters from RockAuto. The part number I ordered was the older 26300-35504 for $2.57 each. I knew they weren't the newer 05 version, but I didn't expect them to be 5+ years old! That is what the label is telling me, right? I'm still going to use them. Just...

    Need recommendations for neglected engine

I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Ranger with the 2.5L 4-banger. The previous owner apparently wasn't the best when it came to maintenance. The oil filter that was on it had a date written on it from two years ago. The oil was very dirty, but was less than half a quart low. I immediately changed...

5k OCI on Hyundai Sonata 2.0 Turbo

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to get some more kits from Blackstone just to be safe. Is the Mobil 1 0w-40 good for year-round use?

5k OCI on Hyundai Sonata 2.0 Turbo

Am I asking for trouble with 1250 more miles than the recommended OCI? I'm currently using PP 5w-30 with a Hyundai OEM oil filter. I get on it every once in a while, but mostly I just do a mild 25 mile commute to work and back.

Oil recommendation for new Hyundai Sonata 2.0T

Is 0w40 safe for the Hyundai powertrain warranty? Since I'm changing my own oil I'm sure they'll want receipts to prove my oil changes if a warranty issue arises.

Oil recommendation for new Hyundai Sonata 2.0T

Should I switch to the synthetic 0w40 at my first oil change? I'm at 1400 miles right now and planned on running the factory fill for 3k miles.

Oil recommendation for new Hyundai Sonata 2.0T

I recently purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T and am hoping to get some suggestions on a good NON-synthetic oil. This vehicle will see ~80% highway driving with approximately 30-50K miles a year. The manual recommends SM or greater 5W-30 or 5W-40. 5W-40 is not plentiful here so I will...

    Spotted some old filters...

I was shopping at a local thrift store today and came across these two vintage filters. I like the way the one filter was packaged in a plastic tube with a tight fitting lid. The newest vehicle listed on the back of the filter and box were 1984 on the Purolator and 1981 on the other. Just...

Is it ever a good idea to use 10W-30...

...on a vehicle that calls for 5W-30? Vehicle is a 2004 Hyundai Sonata 2.7L V6 with 147,000 miles. The car is using almost 2 quarts every 5k miles. I'm wondering if 10W-30 might cut down on consumption.

Mobil Clean 5000 SM or Mobil Super SN?

Both are $1.99/qt. at my local part store. What are the pros and cons of both? I'm looking to start an oil stash.

Do people check the oil when shopping used cars?

Most dealerships change the oil, but I have noticed a few that were underfilled.
