    Is thick oil the culprit?

I would mostly agree but the heavy oil could create a bigger drag in the bearings. I had a similar issue on a Jeep and it turned out to be a bad clutch pressure plate (on a new clutch). New oil in the trans did help the issue but the drag was still there. Mainly could not get into first gear...

Which 75W-80 gear oil for manual transmission?

I'm going to suggest GM/AcDelco/Pennzoil Synchromesh. It's rated GL3 and it works fantastic in imports where a thinner oil like 75w-80 is specified. It is not synthetic but is known for great synchronizer performance. I've had better luck with this than RL MTL but YMMV.

CVT Formulation for Multi-Vehicle CVT VOA

At 35k I would let the dealer do the maintenance using the correct Nissan CVT fluid (they have like 5 different flavors). It's not that there aren't better fluids out there, I just wouldn't want to jeopardize the drive-train warranty.

Another brake question (Pads) for Nissan/Infiniti

FWIW I have had good luck with Brake Performance rotors (which are zinc coated) and OE Nissan (non-value line) pads. I like their drilled/slotted combo rotors and they have held up through two winters without rust showing up. Only starting to see rust rings now after the third winter season. I...

    UOA Nissan MTF 75w-85 - Sentra 34k

I think the most important thing is that it gets changed out at all. I think if you've ever had the trans fluid changed, you are doing better than 90% of auto owners at maintenance!

    Nissan MTF 75w-85 GL4

I finally did swap out the Nissan 75w-85 fluid with the ELF 75w-80. I have to say its been nearly 1,000 miles and I don't notice any difference to speak of in shift feel. I posted the UOA from the old fluid here: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...tra#Post4745726

Is RL Shockproof yellow metal safe?

But shockproof has so much calcium! How could it be bad? It's like Tums for the transmission... keeps that acid reflux at bay.

Lighter weight GL5s for Manual Transmissions?

Looking to start a list and conversation of GL-5 rated gear oils that may be suitable for manual transmissions containing hypoid differentials (i.e. Subarus). I'm specifically interested in choices lighter than 75w-90 (less than 14 cSt@100C and ideally less than 80 cSt@40C), as I'm thinking this...

I'm not opposed to Redline, although I would go with the MTL or MT-85, just checking out what the dealer should have used, and learning a whole lot in the process! Thanks all!
