    Classic cars classic oils?

There is no reason to use anything fancier than Rotella, Valvoline Premium Blue, Delo or Valvoline VR-1 in 10w-30 or 15w-40 in older engines unless you have a specific goal to achieve or a problem to work around. Or because you simply want something "special". Lots of guys I know with the...

    Stupidest Designs.......

Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder rear window regulators. Mounted with rivets. Also window glass is riveted to the lift plate. Very nerve wracking drilling rivets out that mount glass. And metal chips everywhere. Then you have to find proper bolts, nuts, flat washers and lock...

    Stupidest Designs.......

When Blue Bird builds school buses, they run the interior wiring and THEN paint the whole interior white. So all of the interior wiring is painted. Makes tracing circuits an intolerable nightmare.

    Ultra Power filter cut

Maybe cut open a new one. Unless you've already taken the trash out! Could be fun to look at.

Oh my. I don't think I'd use those anymore. Especially on a short tripper. Thanks for posting though.

Use for Odd weights of cheap clearance oil

I just bought a bunch of 10w-40 Valvoline white jugs and CarQuest 10w-40 HM Synthetic all for about $3 per jug. I can and will use the Valvoline in the tractor, I usually use Valvoline Premium Blue 15w-40. I'll use the CarQuest 10w-40 in the XTerra, it's an approved grade in the owner's manual...

    Boring K&N PS-7022 Cartridge 4,906 Miles

Wife's 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, 240,108 on the dash today. 4,906 on the filter. Changed it about 100 miles early, but I am working overtime at work all January. That makes today the day! Had Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic 5w-30 in it and that's what went back in with the same filter. No makeup oil...

Should I change the ATF fluid?

That transmission has a drain plug, and is super easy to do. 19mm I think. It'll take somewhere between 5 and 7 quarts to refill to proper level on the dipstick. I would recommend Valvoline Maxlife ATF. It solved the converter lockup clutch shudder in my 2000 XTerra. Mine has twice the miles and...

Oil filter dented, good to use?

Hopefully my comment here adds value to the discussion... I have received a dented oil filter in the mail before. It was a Ford Racing Performance Parts FL820S. Fairly expensive for an oil filter. The seller made it right and sent me another, and I was able to keep it. I cut it open and found...
