    Sub Inflation

With debt at $34T now and greater than US GDP, this is not a surprise. Tougher times ahead for sure. Sad but logical.

    OE alternators

Unfortunately it is the way of the world now... Alternators for the Honda J35 have doubled/tripled in price over the past 6 - 7 years. I recently spent >$400 for a Napa Reman. Yes, they could be had for cheaper such as something from Rockauto but then you have to deal with the core exchange...

Sounds like there is a short somewhere... Get out the wiring diagram and trace the circuit to see where you need to check.

Engine oil for longer service life over the winter

I don't think it will matter, just use a quality synthetic the meets your car's spec... I would change it and run it a bit right before you put it in the garage for the season.

Tire size choice for 8" wide rims (Ford Expedition)

I'd go with the wider 265/70/R17, you won't get as good gas mileage but you will get better traction. Driving a V8 @ only 4k miles/year I doubt gas mileage is much concern anyhow. Right now I have Firestone Destination LE2 245/70/R17s that are pretty old but I only get about 3k/year on my...

    Attempt to rebuild alternator

Yeah it's a Denso. Where would I get the OEM parts? Can you order them from Denso or do you have to find a dealer?

    Attempt to rebuild alternator

I was thinking it would just be a cool project and nice to have a spare... It would be a backburner project, my priority right now is chasing down an oil leak. Thought replacing the front rocker arm fixed it... Hoping its just residual oil from the install. The more I think about it, I may just...

    Attempt to rebuild alternator

Unfortunately, it looks like they only have early 2000s starter rebuilds available for the Odyssey.

Alternator prices for Honda J35 o_O

Yeah, it was because of an oil leak. Honda Service Bulletin 20-023. The leak was fixed at the time of alternator replacement.

    Attempt to rebuild alternator

I had to replace an oil fouled Alternator on a Honda J35 and I was wondering if I should attempt to clean it and rebuild it or if I should just turn the core in for $50. Is it hard to rebuild and what parts would I need to do the job? I have never done one before. Thanks.

Full synthetic for Honda Odyssey older model(07)

Those J35s are solid. I have owned a few... How does it run? Are there any oil leaks? I had a 2008 Pilot and I believe there are front and rear bank vtec solenoid assy. that leak/go bad. There is a gasket and a screen in them as well as some Orings... Honda best practice is to REPLACE the whole...

    Toro ZT-2100 Oil Service

ZT-2100 Doesn't have a drain or an external filter, it is internal... I am not going to crack the case to get to it, especially at just 100 hrs.

Alternator prices for Honda J35 o_O

Last time I got an alternator for a Honda J35 I think I got a new Bosch at Pepboys for about $230 with a $30-$40 core return. This was probably like 6-7 years ago. I needed one yesterday for an Odyssey and they are $429 for a reman at Napa! I would have ordered one off Rockauto (WAI Global reman...
