UOA: 2011 Equinox 2.4l - fuel in oil

Obviously not the OP here, but I'll hazard a guess since my 2011 had a lot of the same issues. I assume it was rebuilt due to oil consumption issues. That would also probably explain the catalytic converter replacement too. We ran an oil consumption test starting at 98k, rebuild was done at 104k...

    Purolator PL22500 Postmortem @ 5,802 miles

This is a newer production run with the louvers. the filter media looked bad to me. No tears, but the pleat spacing near the seam is awful and the pleat to the left of the seam in the picture was noticeably pushed in compared to the others. It makes me wonder if a tear was possible in the near...

    Purolator PL22500 Postmortem @ 5,802 miles

Attached for review is a Pruolator One PL22500. This ran for 5,802 miles filtering Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 on a 2017 Ford Explorer. Total mileage on the car is about 10,500 miles. I replaced the filter with a NAPA Gold 7502, same oil.

    Motorcraft FL-500S 3,163 miles cut & post

Filter : Motorcraft FL-500S Oil : Mobil1 5W-20 Mileage on Oil : 3,163 miles I know, the mileage is low for the oil and filter. It was a conscious decision as the vehicle is new and I wanted 2 short OCIs to start with. The filter looks very well made. No issues, no visible sludge or metals...

New to me, first cartridge filter recommendations?

The crud that is filtered out isn't deposited anywhere, it is captured within the Filter media itself.

WIX 57502 / NAPA GOLD 7502 VIRGIN FILTER TEARDOWN

I've been lurking for a couple of months reading a lot of good posts with excellent information but I couldn't find a teardown of the Wix/Napa Gold 57502/7502. This filter is a cross reference of the Motorcraft FL-500S. Ford definitely seems to push having a thread and bypass and I've seen...
