Briggs Storm Responder Generator Shroud question

I have a Briggs and Stratton Storm Responder 5500 10HP generator. My question is that it has a plastic shroud around the cylinder, it's on the lower side and can be removed. I cant remember if that was used for cold weather running to help keep in the hot air or if it was used for directing the...

    2019 WRX STI

I have a 2014 WRX and run Rotella T-6 5W-40 in it. I have been told by many to run a Porche A40 spec oil in there. Go to NASIOC forums, it is a very large comunity that has more information than you can imagine. Enjoy your car I would have bought an STI if I could afford it. Mark

    2014 WRX T-6 5W-40 2900 miles

This is the old CJ-4 /SM formula. I bought a bunch of it when I herd it was changing. As far as changing oil I suppose I can dump this and try an oil with A40 Porche spec. Kinda surprised to hear Skyactiv say to switch. This oil has been used for many years in turboed EJ's.

    2014 WRX T-6 5W-40 2900 miles

Here is my yearly oil change sample. Disappointed that my silver is going up. I'm 52 and drive pretty conservative but do like to get spirited here and there.I do have an oil temp and pressure gage (installed at about 8000 miles) and there hasn't been any change there. Cold idle 103 PSI hot...

I have an Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter on my 2014 WRX. It's been on there for 12,000 miles Ive had 2 UOA and they both came back great. The car only has 24,000 miles on it and I want to take it off and cut it open but at 50 bucks a filter I'm gonna leave it on longer. I will post the pics once I do...

    2014 Subaru WRX 3600 mi RotellaT6 5W-40 CJ-4/SM

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the K&N and stock filter were the same. The whole intake is stock the K&N is a drop in. The silver is interesting I’m 51 and it does not get beat on at all occasional full throttle put on easy. I don’t slam it open. Probably nothing to worry about not my...

    2014 Subaru WRX 3600 mi RotellaT6 5W-40 CJ-4/SM

A few things here is the airfilter on the 18500 sample was using a K&N in the stock box and the 22100 sample is a stock Denso filter in the stock box. And the Silicones were the same number, looks like the K&N did a good job. Another thing to note is the oil on the 22100 sample is CJ-4/SM...

Oil for AFM 5.3 GM engine, 2008

I have a 2006 Silverado with a 4.8, but no AFM. At 210,000 my lifters started to get noisy only for a little while after start up. At 190,000 miles I started to notice metal flakes in my oil filter ( I always cut open the filter and look in the pleats just for this reason). I found that 2 lobes...

    2014 WRX Rotella T6 CJ-4/SM

I'm still using the T6 and although it may be the new formula, it is the new bottle with the old CJ-4 /SM rating. I have lots of it. I'm due for my yearly oil change its been about 3500 miles and will send a sample to Blackstone and post it here. Most of what I have was made in October November...

Appropriate oil for high mileage GM 5.3

Hi Tanner, has your 5.3 developed the start up noise or has it always been there? I have a 06 Silverado and it developed the lifter noise at the same milage as your truck but I always cut open my oil filters at noticed at that time it had started to make metal, did some research and found out...
