You should probably take the actuator apart, clean it and re lube it. Could also be turn of the century lead free solder issues in the actuator circuitry. MK4 VWs had that problem with their actuators.

You need about a litre to do a car BTW, so I hope you grabbed 5 of those.

I know Edge 5W40 is a different formulation than 0W40. 0W40 says euro right on the bottle and 5W40 doesn't. The 5W40 isn't related to 0W30 or 0W40. M1 or Edge 0W40 or RT6 are good choices, I ran MANN filters when I had my 2003. The longer one that everyone says to use didn't have the correct...

You say you've been busy but put less than half of the normal mileage on your car? Busy training for a triathlon? Oil doesn't age in the sump, the filter is probably OK too. It's not like it sat for two years, if it was being used that's not even 10k miles regardless to time.

I've heard of this but never read anything like "I did it the old school way and now my brakes are [censored]". I think it is one of those small optimizations that don't really matter, but is the most effective way of doing it. I'm not a pro mechanic or anything like that, but I have researched...

You could possibly cut all of the internal sections out and leave the four sides, then bend it how you want it, then find the angles and weld them all back in. It might be faster to cut them all out, calculate your angles and then weld them all back in. Either way you are basically building...

I just slapped an Ultra on my car last weekend and I plan to run it for three 10k KM OCIs. I'm sure there are a few members on here who have cars that burn a lot of oil and just change the filter every so often. I doubt they are sticking to a 5k interval for the filter when their car burns a jug...
