Do cars really need bypass filters?

I've seen a lot of passenger cars go 300,000 miles with nothing more than the Inline filter.

    First change - 170,000 miles

I find the Cabin filter concept amusing. My 80s and 90s cars never had cabin filters..... the air came straight off the road. Anyway last year a Honda dealer changed my Cabin filter without my permission. He showed me the old one to which I responded, "Why did you do that? I never authorized...

Cabin Air Filters - how often?

Never. The longer you leave the filter, the better it becomes at trapping dirt. (Of course if it becomes completely blocked, then change it.) I find the Cabin filter concept amusing. My 80s and 90s cars never had cabin filters..... the air came straight off the road.

It used to be AC Delco based on the numbers, but what is the latest BITOG verdict?

Smaller Fram filter costs more... odd

I just priced Ultra filters for my Insight and Civic hybrids. Both filters are identical & interchangeable except the Civic is slightly longer (more capacity). Here's what I thought was odd: $10.15 XG6607 (short) $ 9.44 XG7317 (long) I would normally expect the longer version to cost more...

JAPAN raids Mitsubishi over MPG claims

I like the Mirage. Lowest-cost car you could buy ($10,500) with a tiny 3-cylinder engine, which gave over 40 mpg. Stay away from the winter tires. The stock tires are low-rolling resistance, identical to the tires used on Honda's 70mpg Insight hybrid. The winter tires are not LRR.

    Moving Pictures has been remastered

Did they do any volume compression, where the entire record is turned-up to maximum volume? I hate audio engineers that do that. They should be fired. (Recordings are supposed to have dynamic range from high to low volume.)
