I really don't think it's base oils are of a lower quality than what I can find here. I don't know where Mobil 1 is bottled for eastern Europe. But here you pay more for Mobil or Castrol brands.

Did you change the oil? If not, just change it. Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 is a good choice.

Yes, that ESP also seems a bit thinner than other ESPs.

I'm using ESP now in diesel bmw. Could the ethanol be the cause for the high TBN? C3 oils don't get along very well with high sulfur fuels. I don't know much about ethanol, it's just a thought.
