I'm actually about to do the same thing in my 5.3 Silverado. Have 4 quarts of M1 EP and 4 quarts of PUP taking up space on my shelf. Though I won't make a habit of it, I highly doubt any harm will come of it from one OCI.

Anyone posting on a forum regarding motor oil is at least a little OCD (guilty as charged). I for one try to hit the 0% mark on my OLM as close as possible.

Wife’s car is a 2012 Mazda5. Yes it’s a family hauler, but I love driving it. You’re right, it feels like driving a go cart. [censored] her off when I drive it when she’s with me lol.

Just remembered...it wasn’t a fram ultra this run, it was also an ac delco filter. Still, the insolubles didnt change so I suppose it did the trick.

Decided to take advantage of a free dealer oil change, and as you can see from my results, am regretting it. This OCI did occur through an abnormally cold winter and spring and it did do a lot of idling. Miles were probably 50/50 city/highway. Filter was new Fram Ultra. OLM was at 1% remaining...

Have gone down to 4%, but feel confident going below that and plan to when the warranty is up.
