This is Ford dealership regular oil, not synthetic, changes every 3k miles by the previous owner when i bought my 04 Expedition 5.4l 2v ~190k miles. Supertech HM is good oil and if you have ran it with success I'd keep it up.
94 Ford f350 7.5l
93 Chevy C1500 5.7l
07 Impala 3.5l
^ all in the drive presently.
And all the way down to a 2018 Civic 1.5l with all different sizes in-between.
I have used Woolwax in black for 4 vehicles, several years now. Doesn't wash away easily and is super easy to see where you applied it. I use the Kellsport gun myself and a can of FF for the really small holes
Cold start noise is probably piston slap, had it in my 93 5.7l c1500. I run 5/10w40 in mine year round. Pressure is usually 30ish at freeway speeds and under 20 at idle.
Yep, last 4 times I got Famous Brands, they all were Carquest Premium parts. Just got plug wires and oil level sensor this week and both Carquest Premium. Can't beat the deals on them sometimes
What i attracted was Synthetic Complete MV PS which shows a 6.64cst. The orange bottle is not full synthetic, didn't catch that. Id just run the synthetic
I would run Valvoline MV Import synthetic or Valvoline EP atf which are both synthetic with a cst closer to Dex3. Maxlife atf is a little thinner, 1cst but is great fluid in older GMs as well. You can mix and/or run a synthetic in a older dex3 specd tranny no problems. I have had Maxlife in my...
Your car requires 502/505 not SP, I'd keep it and gladly run it, will make Zero difference if it is SP. You do you but sounds like your mind was made up already at your 1st post.
You can get Discoverer ATs at wallyworld, same tread pattern as at3s without the tread coming over the sides a bit. Walmart bought the mold for the ATs and keep the line going. I'd run those if it was me as I have had them on 4 vehicles now.
I did 2- 2gal drain and fills in my 07 Impala with Maxlife and it's been fine. Will probably go with Valvoline EP atf next time as it's a higher visc than Maxlife.
We run Castrol Euro 5w40 in my buddies 17 Pacifica 3.6l with no ill effects. When his wife got it back she asked why it was quieter. So run a 0/5w30 with confidence.
You could add Schaeffer EP Moly to it. It will easily raise the viscosity to a Xw30 and at 1pint you wouldn't be overfilling it by much. It actually has additives and isn't just a thickener like Lucas
