    Motorcraft FL-910S cut open

Thanks for posting. The only filter I use on the Mustangs, good to see that they may not be disintegrating.

April 8th 2024 total solar eclipse

I feel kind of bad for the people who have driven long distances, or flown into Dallas to watch this phenomenon. It's very cloudy and borderline foggy here. Hope it clears up by noon. I'm afraid there's going to be something stupid like a riot if these people Don't see the eclipse happen.

De Tomaso Pantera spotted at Home Depot today

I'd stand there and slowly die while watching the guy load potting soil into it.

Scion xD with 168,000 miles - clunking sound over bumps

Sway bar bushings & end links, strut top mount, struts themselves (a nearly new Gabriel strut clunked on my Shadow, replaced a bunch of other stuff before finally replacing it, and the clunk disappeared), control arm bushings (cured a lot of noise in the same car), ball joints (one went bad on...

Alaska Airlines eliminates automated check-in/boarding pass kiosks

I've flown as recently a September 2023, I don't think Love Field or DFW airports have a place that you can just drop your bag. As far as I've seen, you have to stand in line to at least do that. So what will happen with this new system when somebody's bag is overweight?

Put all your eggs in one basket with investing?

A couple of weeks ago I upped my contribution to the 401k to 12%. Combining that with employee match of 7%, I'm hoping for faster growth. I'm 54 years old and am not nearly where I need to be. One of the best things I did a few years ago was to move contributions around in all of the different...

    Very disturbing news story

Reinforces my belief that the general public has lost all sense of boundaries and decency. This is not okay, but apparently they think it is.

    SQUIRREL Double back Fiasco

My roommate in the late '90s ran his Formula Firebird up on a curb to miss a double-backer. Tire, wheel & control arm to save a squirrel. 🤕. I love animals, but maybe not that much.

United 777 loses a wheel on takeoff from SFO

Maybe somebody on board is responsible.

School me on pepper spray, gel, foam, etc. Bonus point points for actual experience on dogs.

I picked up a can of bear spray at ****'s a few years ago for dog walking. Had to use it on a Chow mix that wasn't planning to stop his charge. It sprayed almost all the way across the street. He reconsidered.

    Interior home paint choices

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I'll share my experience. Painted my living room and kitchen with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Satin, and would occasionally have greasy a fingerprint to remove from around a light switch. Every time I did it with a wet sponge, the paint came off on the...

warranty calls for tool destruction !

It should have sufficed for you to send them a picture of the defective tool. They're just being selfish and petty, IMO.

When will Amazon start charging "prime members" for shipping?

They already are, it's just that most Prime members don't realize it. I've compared shipped prices between my non-Prime Amazon account, and my Prime account. Strikingly similar shipped prices.

Most Satisfying Part of an Oil Change

Letting it drain overnight so I get as much of the old oil out as possible. Carefully pre-filling the filter all the way to the bottom of the threads and threading it on without spilling a drop. Checking the oil level the following day and finding the oil line bisects the "full" hole in the...

    What was your shortest employment?

I was an AP Analyst at a Home Warranty / HVAC repair company for about 3 months in 1999, in the summer when everybody's AC needs work. The company started running low on cash, and creditors were calling me directly threatening legal action, etc etc etc. Payroll checks started to bounce. I...

Does anyone actually eat the bread end pieces?

They serve to keep the rest of the bread moist, until it's gone, then they get fed to the chickens.

    2025 Honda Civic Photos

So much better than the last 3 or more generations. Something I'd actually look at more closely as a potential new car purchase.

So how hungry are you? The things people eat in different country's!

Cruelty is not on the menu at my house. I've seen videos from other countries of animals still alive on the plate, badly burned and waiting to be stabbed by a fork. Disgusting. And let's not even talk about the truckloads of dogs.

Change trans fluid with 219,000 miles on vehicle?

Are you offering to change it yourself, or are you recommending she take it somewhere? I'm of the opinion that you should absolutely not lay a hand on that car (or at least the transmission), because doing so could lead to the end of your friendship. If that transmission has been neglected at...
