    Oil change events for charity

Maybe 20 years ago, but not in today's society. Nothing is the owner's fault, everything is everyone else's fault, you're bound to get somebody coming in there with a car that's ready to explode, and of course your oil change will push it over the edge. No good deed goes unpunished in 2025.

    Which tire protectant?

I've tried a lot of different products over the years, most of them create the glossy shine I like, but none of them last and most of them collect dirt and turn the tires brown. Some of them couldn't even withstand a touch-free wash. My most recent products shown here. Not impressed with either...

    Acura TLX discontinued

It's my opinion that they had finally recovered, style-wise, from the very polarizing 4th gen. I've seen a few very nice TLXs on the road and I'm very impressed with Acura's design this go-round. So it completely tracks that they're now going to kill it. 😅. Whether you like the TLX or not, shall...

    29 year old washer died

I've got a GE washer right now that I really like. On the proper settings, it will actually fill all the way to the top, depending upon how much laundry you put in it. Its drawback is it doesn't handle unbalanced loads very well. It has tried to escape the laundry room a couple of times, and...

    Disgusting ice cream truck.

Anymore, I blow right past buffets, potlucks, food vehicles, salad bars, and any other situation where the general public, or less than hygienic people will be handling my food. I realize I can't control everything... God knows what goes on in the back of my favorite restaurants, but I try to...

Porsche Admits Trouble Ahead: “Our Business Model No Longer Works”

With some creative plastic work, you could make this go pretty easily. But this applies to a lot of brands. It just seems to be very prominent in the VAG world.

    29 year old washer died

Our luck with appliances continues to get worse as time goes on. Our GE refrigerator started acting up last week and isn't cooling properly. I have to drop it to the lowest possible temperature and turn on turbo. Cool for it to keep things cold. Bought it in 2019 with a 5-year warranty. Not...

Porsche Admits Trouble Ahead: “Our Business Model No Longer Works”

Honestly can't remember the last time I saw a late model 911 on the road. Their SUVs are their lifeblood and it's evident in Dallas when you sit in traffic and all Porsches you see are Cayennes and Macans. Have to admit, I loathe compact SUVs, CUVs, crossovers, etc. but that Macan is a very...

Porsche Admits Trouble Ahead: “Our Business Model No Longer Works”

The market for $200,000 cars must have started drying up.

Cheap aftermarket radiator better than original?

I replaced the radiator in the Shadow with a Denso unit. Seems nice enough for a cheap radiator, some of my fins were bent when I got it too. I sat down with a small flat blade screwdriver and straightened them all out before installation. Every bug and rock that is hit it has bent some fins...

Leased Dodge Daytona EV customer shares his negatve experience. He also owns a Durango Hemi.

Too bad we've arrived at a place where you have to completely audit a car before buying. It. Can't say that I would have even bothered looking for an internal trunk release, because I guess I just assume there's going to be one. The lack of one is just unacceptable. I hope I don't have to buy...

New Dodge Hornets selling well below MSRP- worth consideration??

Not a bad deal if I was into buying cars that I don't really like.

This may be the one thing I miss about living there.

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

A buddy of mine in Wyoming bought a Shelby Charger GLHS when it was a pretty new used car. Man that thing was fun. Took a lot of V8 iron by surprise at the stop lights. Growing up with that generation of cars, and now driving a 2024 Kia Forte, It's hilarious how much power a 4-cylinder puts out...

    One Step Polish

What you described would be TR3 or Nufinish, except the dust part. I don't know of any singular product that polishes and seals that doesn't leave a ton of dust behind. I use separate products for compounding, polishing, and sealing. Turtle Wax Ultimate Compound with an orange cutting pad...

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

This wouldn't be the first time on this car that I was forced to just learn about the problem and adapt to it rather than beat my head against the wall trying to solve it.

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

They're a rare sight on the roads in Dallas. You have a better chance of seeing Lancers, Shelby Chargers, and Omni GLHs. Guys at the gas station like to start up conversations about it. Younger people have no idea what it is. 😅

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

Anything's possible I suppose. I siphoned until it dropped below a quarter, and it looks like that's a no-no. I've never had any problems driving because I rarely, if ever let my tank get below a quarter. Not sure what to do if the new sender isn't sending the correct current to the gauge. My...

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

I slept on Drtyler's comment and went out this morning and poured more gas into the tank. The gauge registered a hair below half. The car fired up. Thank you for putting that bug in my ear. Lubener, sorry if I wasn't clear, the tank, sender, and pump were all replaced. The filter has 4,000...

Fuel system issue question - '93 Shadow 3.0

I considered that, but I think there's a problem with the pump if the car won't start on a quarter tank of gas. I could fill it up to half and see what happens, but if it's still the pump then I have a half a tank of gas to siphon instead of a quarter. Not a huge problem in the scheme of things...
