RP worth over the competition (Walmart Pricing)

Royal Purple is bar none the best purple oil in the world today. If I were in the market for a purple oil, it's what I would buy without hesitation.

What is the best 4 stroke mower you have owned?

23 year old Honda Harmony HRT2162. 21" deck. It's been through three sets of wheels and the piece of sheet metal that covers the belt rusted and I replaced it when I replaced the belt, but other than that it's basically just had the oil changed every season. Mowing season here starts sometime...

Change the oil in the B&S Never Change!!!

I have never felt the need to put any magic elixirs in any oil or fuel. Some how my 23 year old Honda has got by without them.

    Treating Ethanol Free Gas?

I have never used a fuel additive that improved performance or increased engine power. I have no idea how degraded fuel which mainly occurs through oxidation and evaporation of more volatile components can be fixed by an additive. At best you might add back some of the volatiles that were lost...

    Treating Ethanol Free Gas?

I have a 22 year old Honda mower than has never had anything but regular pump gas in it except on the last mow of the year I run a tank of Tru-Fuel 4 cycle gas (or similar) in it before I put it away for the winter. I've never used any gas treatments and I've never had any fuel related issues...

Yaris 2sz-fe oil is smelling gasoline

If you're really putting 3k miles on it per year changing it once a year should be no problem and should in no way create a fuel dilution issue.

    Air Filter observation

As the filter media loads up with use of course the pressure differential across the filter will increase with time. Every filter will show this behavior as it is used. You state "Only way for them to be moved apart like that is if there is "enough" Dp across the filter causing the pleats to...

    50 weight oil suggestion

Losing oil pressure at higher rpms? I wonder if your oil pump is cavitating? Although 5800 rpm isn't that high. A higher viscosity oil might help that, then again might make it worse. Or maybe air is getting whipped into the oil. Very difficult to maintain pressure on a oil/air froth. I only...

Talk Some Sense into an Oil Thickie?

That's strange because according to past datasheets, Pennzoil tends to target their viscosities towards the lower end of each range, at least that was the case a year or two ago. But to be perfectly honest I haven't looked closely at their 0w-20 offering. But I did look across their product...

    Oil consumption

As to the why, I'd look at the data sheets. I haven't looked, but I would expect that the PP has a somewhat better Noak rating.

Talk Some Sense into an Oil Thickie?

I don't believe that is true. I believe that low viscosity oils are used in race engines that are highly constrained in their displacement, air induction, fuel capacity, etc. so that they can eek out that last 1% of horsepower which can be the difference between 1st and 2nd or 3rd place in cars...
