It’s usually most ideal to put it on the return side of the cooler going back into the transmission. This is because debris can be stuck in the cooler and the filter can catch it before it circles back through. If a guy needed to install a new cooler then it would be better to put the filter...

That filter looks fine for a lot longer. Can’t see why not just use another. It’s a low flow application so about any common oil filter that fits should handle the use well. I’d use a high capacity filter for the first FCI after the rebuild. Usually there’s quite a bit of initial break in wear...

Rislone engine treatment every oci for several OCIs or in the case of Volvo maybe every oci for the rest of its life to clean and maintain. Just follow the directions.

I’ve done that often so my obvious answer is yes it’s not a problem at all.

I never hesitate to go a little thicker. I’d just roll with the 5w30 and never look back.
