    Chevy full floating axle

Well I tried another hub and axle shaft today. It was reading about 6 thousandths. So it is better than what it was. I also checked the other side and it was also at 6 thousandths. Still has zero to 1 thousandths with no axle shaft. But as soon as I put either axle shaft in it wants to have a...

    Chevy full floating axle

This is a full floating axle with inner and outer tapered bearings. What is confusing me is when I check runout with out an axle shaft in, the runout is near zero. I even tried it with another axle shaft and it went back to the 10 thousandths.

    Chevy full floating axle

Awhile ago I had a post about this but I recently got more information and the last post kinda veered in a different direction so I figured I'd start a new one. I'm having an issue with my hub wobbling on an AAM 10.5 (14 bolt). I have it stripped down to just the hub. I am getting .010 run out...

    2007 Chevy 3500 classic 4l80e

I've been dealing with torque converter issues on this transmission. I bought the truck running rough and the torque converter not locking. I did a bunch of work to it and got it running better but still no lock up. I was thinking it was the misfiring preventing the lockup. I ended up putting...

    Axle hub flange runout

I do think it's in the wheel end assembly. I have tried a new rotor as well as the complete hub with different bearings. I doubt it but could a bent axle shaft cause this?

    Axle hub flange runout

Ok I was able to take some measurements today. The wheel itself had about .030. The rotor had about .019 - .020. I was not able to get my harbor freight dial indicator setup to get a decent reading on the hub face. But I actually put a whole different hub on from another axle I had laying...

    Axle hub flange runout

At the rotor there's probably 1/8 to 3/16 inch wobble at the outer part of the rotor. At the tire it's slightly more. 1/4 to 5/16

    Axle hub flange runout

I'm working on my 2008 Chevy 2500hd. It has the AAM 10.5 (14 bolt) rear axle. I'm noticing my left rear has a wobble to it. The tire and wheel assembly as well as the rotor. I jacked it up and the caliper is sliding in and out on the caliper slides. I've cleaned the hub face and also put brand...

    Delvac Xtreme

It's part of the delvac line so I wouldn't think it would be of lower quality. The specs for this grease seem similar to other greases that are rated GC LB.

    Delvac Xtreme

Our local Blain's farm and fleet has this grease cheaper than most everything else around town. It seems like its geared toward heavy duty trucks and equipment. I'm just curious why it doesn't have the GC and LB ratings. Would it be a good chassis grease for automotive chassis?

Can a grease be too tacky?

I recently picked up a grease that is considered extreme duty and tenaciously tacky. The name is Purus ak60. It's a lithium complex that's GC LB rated. It is made with a heavier base oil. This is the tackiest grease I've ever seen. It makes long strings and almost takes effort to stretch it...

This data here is all that I have found. It's just a screenshot from the TDS on their website.

Lucas Oil Products Red N Tacky Grease Discontinued

I don't know if it's discontinued or not but I have noticed a lot of empty shelves around my area lately.

    Blaster red grease

I just picked up a tube of the Blaster extra tacky red grease. On the tube it says premium grade calcium sulfonate complex. When I look up the TDS on their website it's says lithium complex. I sent them a message to see what they say about it but haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone have any...

    Orange 2 cycle oil

Does anyone know of a 2 cycle oil that is orange in color? I rented a Husqvarna demo saw the other day and they supplied the fuel for it. I liked how it was easy to tell that it was mixed gas. I asked the rental center and they said it was Husqvarna gray bottle with orange cap. Everything I find...

    2005 Chevy 2500hd SEO B1 fuse

I was able to do a little more diagnosing. I unplugged the roof beacon switch and the draw went away. I need to find out where the factory roof beacon wires are. I'm assuming it just wires above the headliner for a flashing snowplow light. I could hear when I plugged/unplugged the switch a click...

    2005 Chevy 2500hd SEO B1 fuse

I should be able to unplug the roof beacon switch. The overhead console on this truck only has dome lights in it. I can drop it down and see if there's anything else up there for trucks with more options.

    2005 Chevy 2500hd SEO B1 fuse

I will try that. The truck also has an IPC/DIC fuse that also feeds the cluster. It did not change the draw when I pulled that one.

    2005 Chevy 2500hd SEO B1 fuse

Does anyone have a way to find a wiring diagram for this SEO B1 fuse? I'm dealing with a draw and as soon as I pull this fuse I drop from 110 milliamps to about 5 milliamps. I left it out for now and can't find anything that doesn't work. From what I found online it runs -Instrument panel...
