What made you buy a new lawn mower?

My $50 Craigslist 22 in Toro Recycler with Kohler power had no bagging attachment, and a bag costs $130, so I bought another Recycler with Briggs power and a bagger for $100 , used them back to back for a couple of weeks, then sold the Kohler powered one for $40, kept the Briggs that just seemed...

    Costco is Offering “Wheels Up!”

I'm not holding my breath...something tells me UAS is kaput. I was hoping to fly that Do 328 Jet at some point.

    Costco is Offering “Wheels Up!”

I had toyed with doing a charter to our FL home but even paying DL first class is a heckuva lot more reasonable. I'm just not a jet-setter, I suppose. It'd take forever to get there in a KingAir anyway. There are no direct flights from Cincinnati to Nashville, I got quotes around $12k-16k round...

    Nissan vs. Kia

Owned several 80s Nissans when they were a slightly cheaper alternative to Honda and Toyota, don't have any interest now. I'd choose a KIA, no question there. Modern Nissans remind me of 90s Mitsubishi Galants, looking worn and tired when they are 3 years old.

are Saturn's reliable or whats up with them? everyone seems to hate

Wouldn't be my first choice, wouldn't have sought it out, but it seems like an OK little generic compact sedan. Some idiot lights pop up periodically on the dash, but they don't seem to hurt anything.

    2020 Kia Sorento EX

Quickie report...car has almost 6000 miles on it now, got its first oil change at 4900 miles. The Valvoline tech was not amused at all the fasteners for the belly pan. No issues aside from a door ding on the side, and a little dent on the hood, presumably from one of the acorns falling from the...

    Kia Telluride

And I'm cool with that. I like the Telluride and Palisade but there were rebates on the last of the old-style Sorento so I bought one.

    Kia Telluride

We have 2 KIAs now, and owned 2 Rio's years ago. They've come a long way. I might suggest that Toyota and Honda are past their prime...our last 2 Hondas were problematic, including the 14 Accord the daughter still drives. The KIAs have been flawless. I recognize that some people don't like...

are Saturn's reliable or whats up with them? everyone seems to hate

I bought a 2003 Saturn L200 from the 92 year old I bought my Florida home from...109k miles, 2.2L ecotec, auto. Frosty a/c, doesn't burn oil, paid $750. Has a few old lady parking dings but nothing major. Kind of a turd but runs well and always starts in the morning. I suspect if an older car is...

    2020 Kia Sorento EX

We bought the house as a place to grab a cheap Allegiant flight to Punta Gorda for long weekends, then retire there in 12-15 years...enjoyed it so much we just decided to move down and be done with it.

Today I get my fourth rear bumper.....

In some states diminished value claims only apply to exotics and specialty vehicles...a Hyundai is a Hyundai is a Hyundai per their logic.

    2020 Kia Sorento EX

We're doing one better than that...my wife found a job 4 miles from our "vacation house" in SW Florida and I'm looking for gainful employment...we are selling the OH house and moving where there is no snow.

    USA Hotel Chains

Hilton or Hyatt for us...we don't stay in hotels much but those are the brands we try to use, for points accumulation and use. Hilton Garden Suites are my sweet spot.

    2020 Kia Sorento EX

Quickie follow up...took a load of stuff to our home in FL, barreled down I-75 at 80+ MPH, and according to the car's calculations, we got 26 MPG. Might be a little optimistic, but it's a HUGE improvement on the Grand Cherokee with the Hemi...that beast only gets maybe 17-18 in all highway use.

pre cleaning charge for new gutters?

I have one big gutter on the front my FL house, and it needs replacement. I would love to have copper gutter, but it is likely really costly. I think the green patina would look cool, compared to beige anodized aluminum. I also don't want to come home one evening and find that some miscreant has...

    Let’s talk gin

My wife LOVES the Hendricks Midsummer pink label, with Hendricks Orbium right behind. The Botanist is a terrific bottle too. Having said that, I'm NOT a gin fan. Gimme a nice single malt and I'm good to go. I DO however like tonic, just straight tonic, either chilled in the fridge or rocks.

New to me W140 and some questions

That's a lot of car for an M104...is it geared really short like the W126 300SE and SEL that had a different inline six? W140s are elaborate and can be tricky to work on, but it just might be the last true, old school MB design.

    Do dealers do this often?

I haven't had front plates on any of my cars in about a decade, never got pulled over or hassled in any way. Now I can throw away the front plates and unused brackets that were stacked up in the garage, on the off-chance I'd have to put the front plates on the cars.

    Do dealers do this often?

I keep a car in FL but it has OH plates. I ran by the local Kia store and got a license plate frame from them, hoping it'll make me look like a pseudo-local, even with out of state plates, and avoid attention from the boys in blue. Wishful thinking perhaps but it makes me feel better.
