Has anyone had luck repeating a bed-in to reduce steering wheel shake?

I went ahead and replaced the front pads and rotors (akebono & raybestos element 3). Completely fixed my issue. The hubs had zero rust build up.

I'm going to replace the hardware and make sure I wire brush the hubs. Thanks.

Has anyone had luck repeating a bed-in to reduce steering wheel shake?

No I didn't clean the hubs. Georgia is pretty easy on cars, and everything looked ok.

Has anyone had luck repeating a bed-in to reduce steering wheel shake?

About 18 months. They are NAPA One pads and rotors. Mostly commuting highway driving.

Has anyone had luck repeating a bed-in to reduce steering wheel shake?

I replaced pads and rotors on my 4Runner ~30k miles ago. The vibration I experience during 55-65 mph when applying moderate brake force has gotten to be unacceptably bad. I never did any bed-in procedure to start with, so perhaps that's part of the root cause. I believe that there must be some...

Vibration from wheel area at highway speeds

08 Acura TL with 215k miles on it. Never replaced any suspension components. Tires are relatively new, and I have not had any alignment or balancing problems. All of the sudden I am getting vibration from the passenger front tire area at highway speeds (~75mph). Does not seem to fit any classic...

Replace jack wheels with nylon / polyurethane?

I do all my work in my driveway. My driveway is not a smooth concrete finish, but rather comprised of bonded (not loose) gravel rocks (not sure the correct term). Bottom line, is that the jack does not roll smoothly on it, and when I'm jacking up the car it does not always jack smoothly as the...

Is there any possible way to replace the hose without losing most of the coolant?

    Tips for sealing radiator hose

I have an Acura TL with 200k miles. I replaced the thermostat as preventative maintenance as part of a timing belt job. This required me to undo the lower radiator hose from the nipple (which was a bear to get off). I had trouble reinstalling the OEM spring clamp, so I replaced with a worm...

Who includes full size spare in tire rotation?

I just got a new 4runner, which includes a full size spare underneath. Owner's manual calls for including the spare in the rotation schedule. This has logic in that your tires will last longer, and then replace all 5, and you don't end up with a 12 year old spare. On the other hand it seems...

Audi Q5 - good selection for my situation?

We never actually went to a VW/Audi dealer, but in general, there are a ton of dealers in the Atlanta metro area. When buying the 4runner, I reached out to no less than 10 dealers for pricing. We test drove a used Q5 at Carmax. In GA you pay an ad valorem tax at purchase of 7% of vehicle cost...

Audi Q5 - good selection for my situation?

We went and test drove a Q5, and the wife was not loving some the German quirkiness of the interface and controls. Ended up test driving a 4Runner, which is a completely different car, and she loved that. I did some more research, and realized that a new 4Runner was only like 20% more expensive...

Buying a CPO Toyota - still get inspected?

I"m looking at a Certified Pre-Owned 4runner from a local Toyota dealer. They do not allow perspective buyers to take the vehicle offsite to be looked at by an indpendent mechanic. In doing some googling, I can see that there are some mobile services. Mostly, I want a good body guy to give me...

Audi Q5 - good selection for my situation?

New belt or new belt tensioner?

2008 Acura TL, 165k miles. Belt probably has about 35k miles on it. My belt squeaks only on the first start of the day and then only for about 5 minutes. If I squirt some water on the belt, the squeak will go away. I understand the the belt is probably slipping due to the alternator recharging...
