    5W-20 wr motor oil

I've used 5W-20 wt oil in every vehicle I've ever owned since 1965. In 1965 Chrysler was rumored to have soft crank shafts and it was said that heavier weight oil should be used to protect them. I've always viewed oil as a lubricant rather than a cushion, and I never cranked an engine over...

    Change of motor oil weight

My '06 Town Car has 155,000 on it and has never used the tinyist bit of oil. I've used CAM-2 5W-20 100% synthetic in it for the last 90,000 miles but can't find it for sale anywhere. Is there any reason why I shouldn't begin to use 0W-40 Mobil-1 in it from now on?

    New car~?

I have a friend who constantly tells me I should buy a new car.. My current driver has 150,000 miles on it, gets 21.9 mpg, uses absolutely no oil, and is extremely comfortable. Any new car the I might consider buying costs over $50,000 and gets 21 to 30mpg. I've been offered $2500 trade-in...

    New vehicle

I'd never buy a "new" new vehicle. If you are looking for ride, comfort, durability, pretty decent fuel mileage, and something that will go 400,000 miles with proper maintenance, look for a Ford product built on the Panther platform; Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Marquis, or Ford 500. I've owned a...

    Summer oil vs winter oil

I'm seriously curious as to why there is so much discussion about changing to a different motor oil weight for different seasons. I drive a water cooled internal combustion powered vehicle that uses a thermostat to control the coolant temperature. Regardless of the outside/ambient temperature...

    Cam-2 Motor oil

I've searched and searched and haven't been able to find Cam-2 Synthetic oil anywhere. I used their 5W-20 for the past 19 years in my Lincoln Town Car which now has 155,000 miles on it. Over those years I changed both oil and filter every 8000 to 12,000 miles using only the highest rated filter...

Motor oil and oil filter cost.

I'm probably overly anal about oil type, oil filters, and oil change intervals, and I don't think that a few extra bucks for an oil change is really much of a concern when you are considering protection of your engine. I spend a few dollars more for my motor oil and filter and always get...
