    Microgard Select - No Love?

I'm guessing the undercarriage of your car has seen some salt and water puddles. It could be anything in your daily commute that interacts with metals. I haven't heard much about these particular filters exhibiting this problem.

Lighted exterior concrete steps in new construction- have to give a thumbs down

Much too much for my tastes. Indirect lighting on or near the pillars would have been more tasteful.

    2026 Mazda CX-5 Revealed

I like it. I drove a N/A version awhile back and it had plenty of power. I kinda like it without the turbo complexity. Adding dimension is a welcome plus. I've been a huge Mazda fan for a long time. Very few manufactures hold and keep their engineering roots as well at Mazda. The CX-5...

Another involuntary credit card being closed- Lowes/ Synchrony

What a crazy system. Cases can be made either way as to why a person should seek a good credit score. Getting there is one thing... maintaining a score is another. Banks plain suck! If I were the OP... I wouldn't worry about it. They'll survive and you'll be better off not worrying about...

What are you working on today?

    - Replaced struts and shocks all around on our 2012 Santa Fe. KYB parts. Fairly easy to do. Once the ride height settles down in a few days, she'll get an alignment. Car has about 145k miles and the 3.5L. Coolant change is next item. We've had decent luck with this car. I have no desire to...

Best cell phone carrier for the money?

Cricket. I see no reason to switch. $30 a month and never had an issue. AT&T coverage.

Belt In Oil (BIO) and Oil Spec

Sure. I trust them to build some very sketchy stuff. 4-cyl ecoboost engines (Mustang etc) that have head gasket issues and now oil pumps driven by a belt that is exposed to sump oil. Sounds wonderful.

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

That's great to hear! Nothing wrong with replacing the fluid regularly. Even better when it's easy to find the drain and fill ports. What about a filter? Is there one on these CVT's?

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

My nephew has an Outlander that he just loves. Very reliable. IMHO... I'd buy a Mitsubishi if the price was right. My "only" real reservation would revolve around the CVT. If they only had a conventional transmission!

    Post Your Latest Coolant Change.

Thank you for the info and advice! Yes, I switched to Peak 10X for the specific "Non- 2EHA" chemistry as my 2001 LeSabre was receiving a full intake and and gasket removal awhile back. I wasn't 100% convinced the DexCool was the perfect coolant and hold that opinion today. Next change will...

    Post Your Latest Coolant Change.

Nice. I'm currently using Peak 10X in my '01 Buick. Any idea of how the Titanium differs compared to the 10X?

    Post your latest oil change

Awesome! Didn't know they made that color. Looks very nice! I had a '77 for a long time and my buddy had a '73 with the much nicer chrome bumpers. Loved that car.

    2001 Buick LeSabre - Valvoline Advanced 10W-30 - 8,372 mi

Wow...interesting decision to block-off the coolant passages. Do you think you gained any horsepower with the different intake and throttle body? Yeah, the Peak 10X is good stuff. 3800 series engines are great.

    2004 Buick what to use

Switched-out the DEXCool for Peak 10X some time ago and it's been great. I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre with the 3800 series. Also did a complete replacement of gaskets (upper & lower) plus hoses and elbows. Didn't like the "Dex" that was in there. The Peak 10X has been working great.

    2001 Buick LeSabre - Valvoline Advanced 10W-30 - 8,372 mi

I've heard very good things about this engine and it's longevity. It's pretty much the reason this car is so attractive in my mind. Less headaches and worry. I can't say that for many of today's vehicles. I feel like they can barely make it to 120k without some major issue.

Yes, This was just the plain Valvoline Advanced. I'm sticking with it. (y)

    2001 Buick LeSabre - Valvoline Advanced 10W-30 - 8,372 mi

That's really great to hear! From what others are telling me... the engine will outlast the rest of the car! :D

    2001 Buick LeSabre - Valvoline Advanced 10W-30 - 8,372 mi

Thanks! Yes, the Buick has been in our family since my aunt purchased it in 2001. She was the proverbial "LiL' Old lady" that hardly drove around. Garage kept and maintained by me for years until she passed and left the car to me. It's been my pride and joy and great remembrance of her...
