    WRX vs Tacoma vs ???

Thanks for the input everyone. I still have no idea what to do. Subaru fixed the throw out bearing and oil leak under the warranty. I guess we will see what happens.

    WRX vs Tacoma vs ???

I love my 2014 WRX but it has been nothing but problems. I drive it modestly. I maintain it well. 22k miles = spun bearing. 26k miles = throw out bearing going bad and oil leak. It is my dream car so it is hard to say but I need something reliable. I was thinking about a Tacoma. Anyone out there...

    Reliability

I have a 2014 WRX, since I have replaced the short block I have been babying the car. By that I mean I stay below 3K rpm until at running temp, I stay out of the turbo, and I let the car idle for about 1 minute after I drive it. I check my oil daily because the apparent reason for the spun...

Can oil become hot and solidify?

I have recently found some black splatter on my downpipe. I am pretty sure it is oil. Can oil become hot and crust like?

Oil in 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX

Since apparently Mobil 1 is not great for my car, what oil should I use? Just picked it back up from the dealer with a new short block and numerous other things. Any advice would be awesome! This site has been awesome! I always get fast and knowledgable answers. Thank you BITOG!

    2014 WRX Oil

Considering the trouble I had in this situation with ALL receipts and using proper oil, I am not risking it.

    2014 WRX Oil

Awesome thank you! I recently learned about the effects of cornering on engine oil displacement. And in a car like the AWD, flat four Subaru this SHOULD be a major concern.

I have no idea what caused the problem. Just trying to get this new small block to last me for a while. I paid 4k for a 96 rav4 and it lasted me 6 years with very poor maintenance(I was young and dumb). Just really bothers me that I put 12k miles on the car and it spun a bearing.

    2014 WRX Oil

Thanks for the input guys/gals. If I switched to T6 or 0w-40 or anything aside from 5w-30 it would void my warranty, right? Also what are your thoughts on an aftermarket oil pump? High flow or an air oil separator kit? Would these help in any way?

    2014 WRX Oil

Every time I have changed the oil it is right below F. To my knowledge the car has never burnt or leaked oil.

The manual just calls for full synthetic 5-W30. I have been using that. I just dont understand what caused the "oilstarvation" how can I prevent this?

Rod knocking at 22,000 miles in 2014 WRX

The SoA rep said they would replace the short block and then be done with my motor. I am using Mobil 1 full synthetic 5W-30 which is what the manual calls for. The rep was saying that I let the oil run low. Is it normal for them to not allow me to see the report on my car? The rep said that...
