I didn't look at their prices but basically Canadian Tire or Walmart would be go to places for deals here in Canada. Sale prices would be about the equivalent of $25 US money for more than a 5 quart jug (because it's litres) So all in all not too bad.

They can have access to as many Superior base oils under the sun as there are, but their engine oils don't seem really any better than the competition. In fact if anyone has been around here long enough, there's always the stories of noisy engines and high iron wear numbers to boot.

27 seems a little low for something that you'd expect to be much tighter. I mean that's about the torque value of an oil drain plug. Some torque values are surprising considering the job that some fasteners have to do. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not doubting you concerning the seat bolts...

If when cold the water is indeed at the bottom of the sump then just drain about 1/2 -1 litre of oil. I would think anything other than that would be going overboard. Then again we're on a site where overboard is commonplace. Or just run it at full operating temp for a while. Good luck
